DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Information Technology (IT) Team, at St. Charles Health System; provides design, development, security, and support to a broad spectrum of computer hardware and software components, all working together for the benefit of departments throughout St. Charles. We partner with our customers to best leverage various technologies to achieve the best patient outcomes possible by implementing new hardware and software solutions, upgrading existing environments, protecting the data we store, and integrating different solutions to achieve a seamless experience.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Enterprise Business Systems Analyst 3 will be responsible for participating and assisting in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's critical business systems. This position’s primary focus will be on driving process improvements, maximizing operational efficiency, and enhancing overall business performance through the effective utilization of technology solutions.
This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Conducts the analysis, evaluation, and documentation of complex business processes, requirements, and system needs.
Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their business goals and translate them into system requirements and specifications.
Conducts thorough research and analysis of existing systems, identifies areas for improvement, and recommends innovative solutions.
Develops and maintains detailed functional and technical design documents, use cases, business process models, and other system-related documentation.
Assists cross-functional teams in the design, development, testing, and implementation of new system enhancements and functionality.
Aligns technical solutions with business requirements, strategic plans, and established standards and provides technical guidance to ensure that installed systems are working effectively and that proposed systems will meet the organization’s future needs.
Ensures the successful delivery of projects within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Acts as a subject matter expert for business systems, providing guidance and support to end-users, stakeholders, and development teams.
Can be called upon to play the role of Project Manager for small to mid-size projects when required.
Monitors system performance, identifies issues, and recommends and implements appropriate solutions.
Collaborates with IT teams to oversee system integrations, data migrations, and system upgrades.
Stays up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to business systems analysis.
Participates with caregivers, Informatics, and leadership to inform and advise strategic and tactical decisions. Actively participates in groups and makes or facilitates strategic and/or tactical decisions for business systems and other areas of responsibility.
Collaborates with the user community to formulate training curriculum; ability to develop simple training content from scratch.
Participates in on-call rotation, as required, and participates in after hour escalation calls.

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university or combination of education and relevant professional experience necessary to perform the full scope of this position.

Preferred: Relevant business analysis or project management certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), PMP (Project Management Professional), CSM/CSPO (Certified Scrum Master/Product Owner), or PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis).
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Six (6) or more years as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or relevant combination of IT experience with a focus on planning, designing, building, and implementing small to mid-size, complex enterprise systems and projects.
Preferred: Three (3) years prior systems development life cycle, platform configuration and implementation experience with a broad spectrum of business and hospital-based applications (e.g., Epic, Mosaiq, Aria, Nuance (eScription and Dragon), 3M Coding, Atlas, Microsoft Reporting Services, Microsoft Integration Services, Microsoft Office Suite, M365, Truven, Pyxis, Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft, Kronos, Navex Document Library, Hill-Rom Nurse Call, and ServiceNow). Familiarity with ERP systems, CRM systems, EMR systems, data warehouses, M365, Cloud services, and other enterprise-level applications.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION:
Experience with multiple project management frameworks and methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Kanban, Predictive and Hybrid.
Experience with Lean/Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement processes.
Knowledge of business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Basic understanding of one or more of the following: Lean, Agile, Design Thinking, and Systems Thinking methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Solid understanding of system development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
Experience in working with cross-functional teams and driving successful project implementations using varied work/project management techniques (e.g., Agile, Predictive, Hybrid).
Experience in gathering and documenting requirements, conducting workshops, conducting gap analysis, and designing functional and technical solutions.
Understands concepts, practices and procedures within the software engineering and architecture field.
