As a Naval Marine Engineering Program Manager, you will oversee the design, manufacture, certification, and customer support of Gas Turbine Packages. What you will be doing:

With this attractive opportunity you will be responsible to manage the design, fabrication, installation, modification, maintenance, and commissioning of gas turbine powered generator sets and propulsion packages in marine applications and be the customer point-of-contact for specific contracts within the Naval Gas Turbine portfolio.  The primary contract responsibility will likely be for the AG9160RF product that Rolls-Royce delivers to support the DDG 51 program. Travel as required to support supervision of installations, troubleshooting, or customer and supplier reviews.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate with Design Engineers, Program Controllers, Program Managers, and Resource Managers to deliver project schedules, resource estimates, clear definition of deliverables, and adherence to the engineering plan and budget.  

  • Interface with customers and suppliers to troubleshoot, analyze, and perform root cause analysis on application specific problems, assisting operations or suppliers to maintain workflow and schedule as needed. 

  • Perform risk management and manage projects through the PCB and configuration control processes. 

  • Analyze engineering sketches, specifications and related data, and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts. Engage in configuration management and change control of components, subsystems, and systems, including design documentation and data deliverables.  

  • Compile and analyze test data to determine the effect on equipment design. Consider such factors as temperature, pressures, speed, power, and fuel consumption into the analysis. Oversee and participate in the testing of gas turbine power generation modules, mechanical drive packages, and control system components. 

  • Manage assigned Safety Alert Reports (SARs) and function as the Red Top Owner for assigned safety investigations under the direction of the Chief Engineer or delegate.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2+ years of experience in the areas of design, development, test, qualification and/or certification of gas turbine module integrated GT packages; Or

  • Master`s degree in Engineering or Technology with 0+ years of experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products 

  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Basic knowledge of regulatory body compliance issues.

  • Willingness to do hands-on work (including onboard ships) to support troubleshooting. 

  • Ability to make well-informed, rational decisions and demonstrate problem-solving skill within organizational policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently or under the direction of senior engineers with a strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions and respond quickly. 

  • Self-motivated, confident individual with strong interpersonal, written and oral communication, and organizational skills.
