As our next Co-op Student, you’ll be assisting in various needs within the Design Engineering department, including component design, tooling design, machine design.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support Design team and other team members on daily engineering tasks

  • Support Engineering calculations and develop tools for efficient calculation output.

  • Support the design and test of engineering prototypes.

  • Support the root cause analysis of component failures.

  • Technical report writing

  • Hands-on support of components and testing

  • Support the development and deployment of test equipment and fixtures.

  • Work in compliance with Johnson Electric FPS Safety, Quality, and Environmental systems

  • Work in compliance with SPS (Johnson Electric Production System)

  • Interaction with production operators, technicians, and other key resources to assist with the documentation, standardization, and improvement of processes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Working toward an engineering degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Independent and self-motivated worker.

  • Committed to meeting deadline requirements.

  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Willing and able to multi-task and change priorities based on organizational needs.

  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Office Software.

  • Able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.

  • “Can Do” attitude.

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

  • Willingness to be involved in hands-on projects in the plant.
