The Role:
We are seeking an Engine Build Technician responsible for assembling a wide variety of engines produced by the GM Performance and Racing Team. This opportunity is a good fit for a qualified individual who is interested in high performance and prototype engines and has a passion for racing! You will assemble high performance, prototype, and racing engines to exacting specifications. Record and track build data collected or analyzed. Maintain good housekeeping, follow workplace organization process, and adhere to environmental requirements for the area. Additional success factors include:
Excellent attention to detail and record keeping.
Strong knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade.
Solid appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time
Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed
Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centric.
Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.
Available to work alternative shift schedules, including weekends.
Your Skills & Abilities (Qualifications):
Associates in Applied Science in an Automotive field or equivalent experience.
Advanced certifications in engine building.
2 years or more of experience with performance engine building or assembly
Strong mechanical abilities, proficiency with typical measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, torque wrenches, etc. found in engine building and machine shops
Able to read and work from blueprints
Perform physical duties involving standing, sitting, and lifting to 50#, using upper body, arms, and hands to pull on wrenches used in the assembly process
