GENERAL PURPOSE
Under minimal supervision and on a daily basis, provides general administrative and departmental support by performing a variety of clerical and coordination tasks. This role plays a key part in fostering associate engagement by supporting and coordinating activities, events, and initiatives that align with the organization’s engagement goals. Responsibilities may include assisting with the planning, communication, and execution of associate engagement programs of minimal to high complexity. Regularly interacts with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and alignment with engagement objectives and departmental needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists in the management of various associate engagement and recognition projects or objectives as requested by site leadership.
- Create and coordinate daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly recognition and associate engagement events.
- Maintain confidential department information and files and appropriate records.
- Process ad-hoc written and verbal requests for information from internal department customers and external contacts that are of a general nature.
- Professionally handle communications including resolving routine inquiries, redirecting messages or direct callers to another party as needed.
- Provide general administrative assistance to department such as coordination supplies management, , scheduling of team meetings or training events, making copies of documents and filing.
- Send out routine written and verbal communications to internal and external customers in support of department objectives and activities.
- Support new associate onboarding.
- Engage and influence associates to actively participate in company programs and initiatives (Example: BRGs, The Foundation, Safety, etc.)
- Update and communicate associate engagement activities through various communication methods like email, Powerpoint, MyMK.com.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
- The role requires coverage during variable hours, such as events on day, evening and night shifts as well as weekends.
- The job involves responding to time-sensitive issues or coordinating with others who have non-standard schedules.

Education/Experience
- One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to follow-up and perform with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and resolve conflicts
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Suite, like Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management, multi-tasking and process management skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- May be required to constantly stand dynamically to perform a function and move to perform another.
- May be required to constantly stand statically in one place to perform a function without changing location.
- May be required to constantly perform continuous operation of a personal computer for four hours or more.
- May be required to constantly use hands and fingers to handle and manipulate objects and/or operate equipment.
- May be required to constantly perform unaided lift of objects, up to 10 lbs.
