Job title: EMEA Payroll Specialist – Based in Hungary

The EMEA Payroll Specialist will work in the Finance department and collaborate with HR and have all employees as their internal customers. The Payroll Specialist works alongside the rest of the team and EMEA Payroll Manager in a multi-cultural shared services environment, who is open to change and able to embrace the challenges that arise in a fast-moving environment.

This role is key to ensuring our payrolls are submitted, reviewed, paid in a timely manner and are recorded and reconciled accurately. The Payroll Specialist will manage the end-to-end payroll activities and provide efficient and accurate accounting support within the finance department. It involves a high level of organization due to the various elements involved and will give someone the opportunity to challenge themselves and be responsible for entire end to end payroll processes across the EMEA region, including developing a very good understanding payroll financial accounting.

  Responsibilities:

  • End to end processing of payrolls for a variety of countries within EMEA - each with their own complexities - working with ADP and Cloudpay as the payroll providers.
  • Ensure payrolls are processed accurately, timely and in accordance with local country requirements.
  • Ensure that monthly, quarterly and yearly local tax payments and compliance requirements are met.
  • Maintain sufficient controls in place and implemented to capture changes month on month and ensure that any differences are reconciled and explained.
  • Create and maintain control documentation, process flows and procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Liaise between the human resources and finance department to maintain accurate employee payroll information.
  • Work with other members of the Payroll team.
  • Administrative tasks – e.g., Payslips, year-end tax certificates and close monitoring of payroll mailboxes and action of items requiring attention.
  • Current Entities – UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Netherlands, Hungary, Israel, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, South Africa, Dubai, Saudi, Poland, Greece, Belgium. Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, Czech Rep, Slovakia, Italy. Spain, Portugal.

Requirements:

  • At least 3-4 years’ payroll working experience, ideally in a similar role with EMEA exposure
  • Effective communication in English
  • Knowledge and application of payroll principles, concepts and industry practices and standards in Hungary and other main EMEA countries.
  • Understanding of and following procedures and HR practices
  • Must be able to work to strict deadlines
