Job Description

In this exiting position as Electronic Engineer (EE) you will be part of an R&D team responsible for developing future IVD platform solutions for the Agilent Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD). This division develops pathology solutions for tissue-based cancer diagnostics. Our portfolio of solutions combines competitive automated systems, software and connectivity, comprehensive reagent portfolios and support, all designed and developed for operating in a regulated diagnostic market environment.

This on-site position will be based on Agilent Technologies, Pathology located in the Copenhagen area.

About the job:

You will actively contribute to the design and integration of electronics for our next-generation platforms, working closely with firmware-, mechanical engineers and technicians based in both Denmark and the USA to ensure seamless collaboration and innovative solutions.

We expect you to have knowledge & expertise as well as practical experience developing and integrating electronics for complex systems comprising of HW, FW & SW. This job involves activities covering the complete development cycle of the product from requirements, through design phases incl verification and transfer to manufacturing.


Your key responsibilities and tasks will be:

  • Contribute to the development, testing, and documentation of electronic designs for Pathology IVD instrument products, collaborating closely with experienced colleagues.
  • Integrate electronics designs with firmware (FW) and mechanical modules to ensure full system functionality and compliance with specifications
  • Characterize, test and integrate electronic designs
  • Create, review and maintain formal documentation in Design History File (DHF) documentation.
  • Transfer of designs to manufacturing, ensuring a smooth transition from development to production
  • Collaborate with Electronic and Firmware Engineering teams across the greater Agilent organization

The ideal candidate is able to facilitate transition of product design and enhancements to full production/delivery and possess the following qualifications/experience.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic/Mechatronics/ Automation Engineering (or equivalent) with >3 years related working experience
  • Experience in designing electronics and motion control systems, ideally within Medical Devices industry
  • Experience using ECAD systems and advanced simulation tools
  • Experience with programming and debugging embedded systems; knowledge with C++ or C# is an advantage
  • Experience and interest in using and applying computational modelling for design qualification and test.
  • Hands-on experience in firmware and hardware integration and testing
  • Full fluency in English is a requirement. Fluency in Danish is preferable, but not mandatory.
  • Strong process orientation, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for cross-disciplinary teamwork and continuous learning

Desired special skills:

  • Experience within the In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) market
  • Experience with integration of electronics, mechanics, software and chemistry
  • Familiarity with DHF, Safety & Risk assessment processes
