What you will do
Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled and motivated Electronic Security Application Programmer to join our customer-based support team in Charlotte, NC. This role involves developing and maintaining software applications that support electronic security systems, including access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, and alarm monitoring. The ideal candidate will also be willing and able to learn Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to support system layout and integration tasks.
How you will do it
Design, develop, and maintain software applications for electronic security systems.
Integrate third-party security hardware and software using APIs, SDKs, and custom interfaces.
Collaborate with security engineers to translate system requirements into functional code.
Develop scripts and automation tools for system configuration and deployment.
Learn and apply CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to assist in system design and documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve software and integration issues in deployed systems.
Maintain documentation for code, system configurations, and integration processes.
Stay current with industry trends in electronic security and CAD technologies.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, or similar.
Familiarity with networking protocols and system integration concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to learn CAD software (training provided).
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience with electronic security systems (access control, CCTV, alarms) is a plus.
Preferred
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD platforms.
Knowledge of security system platforms like AMAG, Verint, DMP or similar.
Understanding of database systems and SQL.
Experience with RESTful APIs and web services.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $74,000 to $125,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and
abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.) This position includes a
