Electrical Simulations Engineer

The Electrical Simulation Engineer is responsible for developing and technically supporting products to satisfy internal metrics and the demanding needs of our customers. You could be part of a dedicated team of experts supporting the diverse and exciting engineering projects in Sensata. The team is growing in skill and numbers and helping transform how simulation is used in our business.

General Responsibilities
• Leads feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
• Leads research and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
• Collaborates with engineers and developers to create product designs with marketing teams to develop sales plans for future products
• Leads the development of prototypes, verification/validation units and product specifications, including material specifications, assembly drawings and manufacturing documentation
• Act as the lead technical contact for customers and suppliers on a regular basis

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customer

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Independently perform electrical analyses based on the received request for simulation.
    • Uses judgment within defined policies and practices.
    • Perform FEA of Magnetic, Electromagnetic, Electric-Thermal models, providing resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems.
    • Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in electrical engineering and analysis, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
    • Represents the organization on projects and may perform in project leadership role and/or may supervise the activities of less experienced personnel
    • Explain results calculated by the FEA software.
    • Validate, where applicable’ the FEA models by initiating physical experiments.

    Specific Experience / Qualifications

    • Experience of electrically based Multiphysics analysis (examples: electric-magnetic-mechanical, thermal-electrical) with an in-depth understanding of the physical events behind the mathematical formulas preferred
    • High understanding of electric and magnetic materials preferred
    • Experience of high voltage electrical simulations is desirable preferred
    • Experience in CAD software (SolidWorks is an advantage) preferred
    • Knowledge in FEM software (ANSYS Maxwell, HFSS, Simplorer is an advantage) preferred

    Base Salary Range:

    $102,900 - $141,460.00
