Job Responsibilities: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Plan, coordinate, and execute EHS tasks such as different types of Risk Assessments (ergonomic,
machine, area based, task based, etc.), area hazard monitoring (i.e. Noise monitoring), and various
medical surveillance tasks in coordination with occupational health (hearing, vision, drug screens,
etc.).
Advanced knowledge of either Ergonomics, Machine Safety, Maintenance, Production, or Process
Safety that can be applied in an EHS Setting.
Actively participates in Technical EHS tasks, such as MOC Reviews, Mac hine Risk Assessments,
Maintenance safety reviews, Permit to Work / Safe Work Permitting Process.
Leads the roll-out of the EHS Component in BD Excellence.
Conduct Incident Investigations and drive the Corrective and Preventative Actions to completion.
Leads relevant technical EHS Trainings with associates and update training materials as needed.
Develop a good working relationship with all associates and supervisors so they are comfortable in
sharing EHS related concerns and issues.
Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including
hazardous waste regulations.
To report to superior when there is any safety, environment, and Health incidents.
Obtain and maintain necessary legal certifications to conduct EHS business needs.
Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Education and Experience:
Diploma or minimum certificate in any Engineering/Technical disciplines.
At least 5 years’ experience/exposure in EHS.
Basic knowledge/experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Hazard Operability Study
(HAZOP) is an advantage.

Leads Emergency Response Plan, Training, and Coordination
Support the Behavior Based Safety and Environmental Safety Opportunity Processes.
Act as advocate for EHS on the shop floor and develop a speak up culture with associates.
Conduct safety audits as-needed (housekeeping, procedures, PPE, etc.)
Support for on-site visits with EHS regulators and auditors.
Serve the Safety Committee.
Execute and track controlled document revisions and tracking of revisions for safety documents.
Audit safety procedures and JSAs. Support in creation of procedures to incorporate EHS needs.
Perform housekeeping and facility audits to ensure facility is “inspection” ready.
Develop an understanding of the necessary rules and legal EH&S compliance, as well as company
and industry loss prevention standards, providing facility supervisors with input on pertinent changes
as necessary. This will include attending pertinent safety training seminars as needed.
