EHS Specialist - Environmental & Sustainability

Are you passionate about protecting the environment and driving sustainable change? Join Haleon as an EHS Specialist, where you’ll lead and enhance our environmental and sustainability programs across our manufacturing site and R&D center. You’ll be at the forefront of implementing strategic initiatives that help us meet our water, energy, and waste reduction targets, while ensuring compliance and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact—supporting Haleon’s global sustainability goals and maintaining our strong reputation in environmental leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and Haleon’s internal standards through regular walkthroughs, inspections, and audits
  • Deliver accurate and timely environmental and sustainability reporting in line with both legal and Haleon requirements
  • Participate in investigations of environmental incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence
  • Maintain and continuously improve emergency preparedness for environmental incidents at the plant and GOHSU
  • Align site-level activities with Haleon’s global environmental programs, including participation in regular global meetings to review KPIs, targets, and best practices
  • Act as a key point of contact for local environmental authorities and represent the site in regulatory matters

Why You?

We’re looking for someone who meets the following requirements:

Education:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental, Engineering, or Science disciplines
  • Preferred: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the same fields
    • Additional certifications in hazardous waste management or environmental/sustainability management are a plus

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in environmental protection

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in using databases and reporting platforms for environmental data
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis and interpret data clearly
  • Strong analytical thinking to explain trends and propose practical solutions
  • Excellent relationship-building skills to engage with plant teams, GOHSU, senior management, EHS, and regional leaders
  • Influencing and negotiation skills with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and Slovak
