About The Role:
To define and drive the long-term strategy for Dyson Korea’s e-commerce business, leading aggressive growth across online channels including Dyson.com, online marketplaces, and TV home shopping. As part of the market leadership team, the E-Commerce Director injects thought leadership, energy, and challenge, continuously developing new digital channel opportunities and strengthening existing ones to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
Success in this role depends on powerful cross-functional leadership and influence—collaborating closely with commercial, marketing, demand planning, logistics, IT, and customer service teams to deliver best-in-class online performance. The E-Commerce Director will manage a focused e-commerce team, while leveraging broader market resources through virtual and matrixed collaboration.
Key responsibilities
Set Market Vision for E-Commerce Growth
- Build and communicate a compelling vision for Dyson’s online business in Korea—covering Dyson.com, online marketplaces, and TV home shopping.
- Be a visible and inspiring leader, generating interest and momentum for all online channels.
- Develop long-term business strategies based on market dynamics and Dyson group principles.
Develop E-Commerce Trading Framework
- Own the P&L for revenue generation across all online channels.
- Set, drive, and monitor aggressive sales targets (annual, monthly, channel-wise).
- Develop and implement pricing and promotional strategies, maximizing ROI and profitability.
Deliver Strategy for Immediate and Sustained Online Growth
- Ensure flawless execution of plans across digital sales touchpoints, including site functionality, campaigns, launch activities, and customer experience.
- Liaise with internal and external teams—digital marketing, logistics, marketplace partners, TV home shopping providers—to ensure readiness and delivery.
- Guide and manage the e-commerce team with direct line responsibility, developing the right people, processes, and systems.
Drive Seamless, Advocacy-Creating Customer Experiences Online
- Maintain single-minded focus on delivering frictionless, impactful customer journeys from awareness to post-purchase.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and customer service to ensure online orders are fulfilled with excellence.
- Audit and optimize every operational detail impacting the online shop and marketplace performance (site speed, UX, content, payment, logistics, post-sale services).
Channel Management and Expansion
- Develop and execute growth strategies for key channels: Dyson.com, major online marketplaces, and TV home shopping.
- Leverage data analysis, market insights, and consumer behavior trends to inform channel decisions.
- Expand Dyson’s online footprint through strategic partnerships and new business opportunities.
Test, Learn, Share, and Grow Digital Capabilities
- Engage proactively with global and local leadership teams, sharing learnings and embracing best practices from other markets.
- Encourage a culture of rapid experimentation and continuous improvement in digital sales capacity.
- Review and address resource and capability needs in line with business expansion plans.
About You:
- Career background:
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in e-commerce, online sales, or digital marketing. Preferably with leading roles at major FMCG, Consumer Electronics, or global/local brands.
- Deep understanding of Korea’s online retail and e-commerce ecosystem.
- Proven experience managing dot com, online marketplaces and TV home shopping channels
- Strong P&L management and track record of delivering business growth (Hands-on responsibility for sales, profit, and cost structures while driving growth strategies)
- Demonstrated ability to manage online KPIs
