Sales Training Director, Advanced Surgery UCAN

The Advanced Surgery Sales Training Director is responsible for developing and delivering content and tools to train sales professionals on product, selling skills, healthcare market, and clinical content areas. This role develops and delivers sophisticated clinical and digital solutions training content via multiple media (self-paced, in-person, live virtual) and collaborates across the sales training team, as well as with marketing and sales leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to craft, develop and conduct engaging virtual and live training.

  • Provide perspective while developing training in partnership with commercial colleagues that fully prepare the Advanced Surgery teams to connect with customers and sell the existing portfolio, as well as launch and sell new products prior to launch as required.

  • Collaborate with marketing and sales team members to develop and deliver training approaches that support the tactical implementation of our marketing strategy and product implementation.

  • Work closely with marketing on continuous design, delivery, and implementation of training to maintain sales force and clinician effectiveness in the marketplace.

  • Implement new learning tools and innovative training delivery to increase retention for launch products.

  • Lead training classes across the field force including facilitation of training sessions and assessments; update managers on new hire performance and develop remediation plans.

  • Analyze metrics to determine and evaluate the opportunities and success of the training sessions.

  • Collaborate with partners and team members to ensure the successful execution of all training events (including national sales meetings/kick off meetings, Field Sales Trainer (FST) trainings, and any in field courses to raise capabilities.

  • Operate as strategic lead for the Advanced Surgery business in UCAN for commercial training and sales enablement.  Partner with Senior Leadership to assess current capabilities and build roadmap for development within necessary business budgets and timelines.

  • Travel up to 50% of the time (US and Canada).

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and interact with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proven record of the ability to develop and facilitate high-quality learning events that resonate with audiences at various learning levels.

  • Proven success working independently with sound decision making skills.

  • Strong collaboration, planning and organizational skills.

  • History of creative problem solving and strategic thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to quickly shifting priorities, with the ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously.

  • High level of motivation, and drive to work with a sense of urgency.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Demonstrate understanding of product knowledge and relevant customer call point needs to design, develop, and implement training sessions to achieve desired results.

  • Demonstrated comprehension of the selling process - capability to understand and complete sales procedures.

  • Proficient use of virtual meeting platform(s).

  • Capability to adapt to and effectively use digital learning tools.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (US and Canada).

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (focus in education, business, marketing or instructional design related field preferred)

  • 7 years field sales and/or sales training experience (Medical device, hospital capital equipment, medical device technology, healthcare IT preferred)

  • Knowledge of sales methodologies for hospital capital equipment products and solutions preferred.
