As a member of the Individual Insurance Technology Leadership Team, the candidate is accountable for aligning the technology strategy, plans, and implementation of solutions so that it is consistent with the attainment of business goals. This role will collaborate with various Engineering leaders as a key senior technology partner to develop and implement the right technology solutions to drive the business.
The role will champion the transformation of initiatives to build a more integrated end-to-end approach which allows for standardization, simplification, and enhanced reporting to deliver better initiative management practices. The role is accountable for delivering accurate and comprehensive financial data on initiatives performance, Outcome and Key Result delivery and Strategic investments.
Position Responsibilities: 
- Strategic Technology Development: Partner to define, then deliver, implement, and maintain the Insurance and Affinity technology strategy and portfolio planning to drive Manulife business goals – both strategic and operational – with a key focus on simplification and modernization. This includes working with Planning Teams, Strategy, CIO’s and CFOs to influence the process, policy and systems which enables more transparent planning and attainment of efficiency improvements. Work to continuously improve and standardize processes to gain efficiency in production and enhance quality of information. As required, meet with CDLT members and other key senior leaders to formulate and vet initiative listings and to review quarterly actual expense and benefit results.
 - Employee Engagement & Leadership: Support the VP, Individual Insurance Technology as required with any and all employee engagement activities, including townhalls, team events, and talent management needs. Provide leadership and direction in developing a team of highly engaged, geographically diverse, Technology professionals, and empowers them to enable the development, delivery, and operation of a top tier technology strategy
 - Partner closely with key risk customers within Insurance and Affinity Markets to coordinate work effort for all finance related matters and strategic outcomes. Working with Enterprise Strategy, drive continuous evolution of processes and philosophies to support initiative prioritization and measurement as a leading core expertise and competitive advantage. As well, the provision of substantial and timely analysis which assesses expense and efficiency performance and trends, identifies key drivers, promotes business area accountability, and integrates costs with related benefits. Collaborating with business unit clients, assist in providing financial mentorship to discover different approaches for improving efficiency, controlling expenses, and growing returns from expense outlays.
 - Workforce & Financial Management: Establishes operating and investment budgets within the respective work area consistent with short and long-term Insurance and Affinity Market financial goals. Monitors spending and facilitates adjustments to plan to ensure financial targets are met. Helps facilitate workforce management and talent management as needed for the VP, Individual Insurance Technology. This will include any reorgs and realignments as required by the business.
 - Closed Loop Reporting: Design and build the initiative expense and benefit reporting to ensure initiative expenses and benefits are planned and tracked in the Closed Loop model by functional area, progress against targets, and overall success of the initiative in meeting its KPI/KRI targets. A focus here will be all P2G reporting.
 - Business Case Support: Support Strategy and Project Management teams in creating cases by providing advisory support on template completion as well providing first level of review. Key contact for any ODF process related questions and all portfolio planning. Participate in Transformation Committee preview and partner with Strategy on any policy related clarifications required.
 
Required Qualifications: 
- Minimum of 5+ years of technology leadership and strategy execution experience for large scale organizations.
 - Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a technology strategy and tactics to drive business goals, in collaboration with external and internal partners.
 - Exceptional communications judgement and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with both technical and non-technical customers --- translate complex technical issues into fundamental concepts
 - Confident presentation and facilitation skills (PowerPoint) and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with management.
 - A comprehensive knowledge of project accounting and reporting, capitalization, financial, planning & analysis functions and activities, knowledge of IT function, business practices and controls, and accounting/audit principles which apply to financial companies and the area of expense management and initiative management.
 - Independently deal with, support, and influence senior executives across the division and company.
 - Strong budgeting and financial skill

$110,530.00 CAD - $205,270.00 CAD
