Position Summary
Director – Tech Sourcing, US Digital Health will report to the Head of Partnerships/BD, US Digital Health, responsible for the comprehensive acquisition and management of partnerships/customers in alignment with the Digital Health business strategy and goals.

The roles and responsibilities for the position of Director-Tech Sourcing, US Digital Health will be in alignment with the Goals & Objectives, Vision & Roadmap of the Global Digital Health organization and largely dictated by the Head of Health Hardware. The overarching goal of this role is to lead health technology sourcing initiatives. The Key Roles & Responsibilities of selected candidate will be as follows:
Leadership
- Define and execute global sourcing strategies for key health technology categories that may include medical-grade biosensors, wearable devices, digital health platforms, and connected medical systems. These focus areas will be set from time to time based on the Goals & Objectives of the Global Digital Health organization
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies with FDA, CE certification or pre-certification potential; integrate clinical validation and regulatory readiness into sourcing roadmaps.
- Lead negotiations for collaboration, licensing, or supply contracts related to digital health and medical technologies, ensuring full compliance with international medical standards.
- Align sourcing strategies with Samsung’s global health technology roadmap and regulatory strategy.
Cross-Functional and Clinical Collaboration
- Partner with R&D, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, legal, Marketing and other relevant divisions to ensure technology sourcing aligns with Samsung’s product development and patient-safety frameworks.
- Facilitate collaborations between Samsung’s global research units and clinical or academic partners
- Integrate multi-disciplinary insights—clinical validation, usability, manufacturability—into sourcing evaluations and partner selection.
Technology and Market Analysis
- Conduct deep-dive analyses on digital health innovation trends, medical device market dynamics, and digital therapeutic validation frameworks.
- Evaluate startups (e.g. MedTech and digital health) for strategic partnership or investment potential based on clinical readiness, regulatory compliance, and scalability.
- Build strategic alliances (e.g. with research hospitals, healthcare incubators, and standards organizations to accelerate medical technology integration).
- Deliver market intelligence reports and technology evaluations to Samsung management to guide product and sourcing decisions.
Supplier and Partner Management
- Manage end-to-end supplier and partner relationships (e.g. with medical device manufacturers and technology vendors) meeting regulatory and quality standards.
- Lead technical and clinical due-diligence reviews integrating input from regulatory and clinical experts.
- Develop and manage comprehensive supplier scorecards including quality, compliance, clinical performance, and risk indicators.
- Oversee supplier onboarding, contract execution, and ongoing performance monitoring within Samsung’s global SRM framework.
Operational and Compliance Excellence
- Supervise sourcing approvals in alignment with medical device lifecycle timelines and compliance audits.
- Implement risk-management frameworks to mitigate clinical, regulatory, and supplier-related risks.
- Deliver measurable sourcing efficiency, cost optimization, and innovation KPIs across global operations.

Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor's Degree required, MBA a plus
- Over 12 years of relevant experience
- Experience in Digital Health
- Track record of successful vendor/partnership and vendor/partnership management as related to Health Hardware & Software
- Track record of successful Acquisition of New Partners/Vendors as well as long-term Account Relationships with positive business outcomes
- Excellent written & oral communication skills with a proven ability to provide clarity in complex situations
- Experience producing highly effective presentations to communicate with internal and external customers and partners
- Ability to work independently, quickly, and thoroughly to prioritize and complete tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to collaborate effectively, both internally and with partners, customers
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions
- Work is generally performed in an office environment.
- This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
- Under very little direct supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are seldom monitored, and consequences of decisions adversely affect operating results and management decisions.
- Complete access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the company’s competitive position.
- There will be significant travel to develop & manage business goals
Compensation for this role, for candidates based in Mountain View, CA is expected to be between $215,000 ~ $240,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
