The following position is to join the RTX Corporate Team:

The Director, Campus Programs will lead the strategic vision, design, and execution of our college and university recruiting programs across the enterprise. This leader will be responsible for building and executing a world-class strategy to attract, engage, and hire the best and brightest university talent into our organization—developing the future workforce that will shape the next generation of aerospace and defense innovation.

This role will oversee a high-performing team of managers and recruiters, driving a culture of excellence, collaboration, and engagement. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, operationally disciplined, passionate about talent development, and energized by building strong partnerships across academia and business units.

What You Will Do

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and execute a multi-year college and university recruiting strategy aligned with enterprise talent priorities and future workforce needs.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage relationships with key universities, colleges, and technical institutions that align with our business and goals.
  • Partner with business and HR leaders to forecast hiring needs and design innovative programs to attract top-tier student talent in engineering, technology, manufacturing, and business functions.

Brand & Campus Engagement

  • Define and differentiate the company’s employer brand on campus through targeted events, partnerships, and digital engagement strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with faculty, career services, student organizations, and professional associations to strengthen the company’s reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Leverage data and insights to measure campus brand effectiveness and continuously improve engagement strategies.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead the end-to-end operations of intern and co-op recruiting, ensuring seamless candidate and hiring manager experiences.
  • Establish and maintain processes, metrics, and tools that drive efficiency, consistency, and quality in campus hiring.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, security, and export control requirements related to hiring in the aerospace and defense sector.

Intern & Co-op Experience

  • Oversee the design and delivery of high-impact programming that enhances the summer experience, fosters engagement, and builds long-term affinity with the company.
  • Lead initiatives to maximize intern-to-full-time conversion, ensuring a strong pipeline of emerging talent.
  • Partner with Learning & Development to create onboarding and development experiences that accelerate campus programs success.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers and recruiters, fostering a culture of accountability and performance excellence.
  • Build engagement and collaboration within the team and across HR and business partners globally.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement within the early talent function.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition and university recruiting.
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience.
  • Prior experience developing and executing large-scale university recruiting strategies in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Prior experience leveraging market trends, university partnerships, and employer branding strategies.
  • Prior experience leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering results in a high-performance culture.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Prior experience working for a large global fortune 100 company.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, technology, or advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Global recruiting experience and familiarity with government contracting or security clearance processes.
  • Master’s Degree or an advanced certification in HR or related discipline (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
