What is the opportunity?

The Director, Strategy & Transformation plays a critical leadership role in Customer Engagement & Data (CE&D) serves as a thought partner, offering targeted support for our highest strategic priorities and driving customer-in mindset.

This role will collaborate closely with the CE&D leadership team to ensure that growth strategies are effectively developed, clearly articulated, and well-aligned with both business and enterprise priorities. The incumbent will also produce high-quality materials that thoughtfully synthesize and present key qualitative and quantitative insights to senior audiences, including Group Heads and Operating Committees. These materials will support regular reviews, discussions, and decision-making processes, enabling informed and actionable management activities to drive business growth.

The Customer Engagement & Data (CE&D) team supports Personal Banking and Commercial Banking driving transformational strategy by leveraging the power of data to deliver personalized customer engagement and experiences, market-leading client acquisition and creating more integrated customer journeys across channels, enabling our product, segment, and regional teams to deepen relationships and drive premium growth. 

This role requires 4 days in office with 1 remote day to help foster a collaborative work environment.

What will you do? 

  • Laser focused on evolving strategy for top priorities across CE&D.
  • Strategy lead, working in close partnership with leadership and peers, to ensure growth strategies are well developed, articulated and aligned to businesses and enterprise perspective/priorities, and proactively identify benefits.
  • Produce material to support review, discussion, and decisions with Group Heads, Operating Committees, Group Executive and Senior Executive to inform tangible management actions.
  • Perform comprehensive strategic reviews and analyses leveraging frameworks, approaches, tools and methodologies and develop robust recommendations continuously pushing the thinking, collaborating closely with leadership, stakeholders and subject matter experts while ensuring adherence to timelines and deliverables.
  • Act as a strategic storyteller, providing consistency and simplicity in our strategy across a variety of audiences (CE&D Team, leadership, Operating Committee, etc.)
  • As part of the CE&D Business Management team, support additional business management responsibilities as needed, including contributing to special projects, operational coordination, and cross-functional initiatives to ensure alignment with leadership priorities and organizational goals.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 5+ years of deep and broad management consulting experience with an emphasis on business strategy through experience in Corporate Strategy, Consulting, or Product Management
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver high-quality, clear, concise, and impactful strategic content and materials, with advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and strong technical expertise in visual storytelling
  • Strong conceptual thinking and comfortable working in ambiguous situations, scoping out work efforts to bring clarity to outcomes, and remaining flexible while delivering high-impact results
  • Analytical rigour – able to break down complex problems, synthesize information and use data to inform decisions and strategy development
  • Demonstrated ability in project design, management, and implementation in a strategy setting and execution context
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop and nurture strong relationships at every level of the organization, including managing complex stakeholder relationships
  • Strong written and oral executive presentation skills with presence to build credibility across organization
  • High level of initiative and motivation
  • Organizational agility to navigate complexity with flexibility and awareness, adapting to shifting priorities and building strong cross-functional relationships
