How You Will Contribute

  • Provide strategic leadership to align the Services business with Ciena's mission and values, ensuring operational excellence and revenue growth.
  • Develop innovative service offerings tailored to client needs, including network optimization and security solutions, driving market expansion.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships through executive briefings, strategic planning, and proactive resolution of challenges, achieving high Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and contract renewals.
  • Oversee complex networking projects encompassing design, deployment, support, and lifecycle management, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards.
  • Manage financial performance, owning the profit and loss (P&L) for the services segment, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation, with oversight of a $60M annual budget.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of 35 professionals via 4 managers, fostering accountability, innovation, and collaboration across regional and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive continuous improvements in service delivery processes using methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, and ITIL, ensuring operational efficiency.

The Must Haves

  • 10–12+ years of leadership experience in technology/services, focusing on major customer segments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Proven track record in customer-facing roles, establishing executive relationships, and achieving business growth.
  • Strong technical expertise in networking, security, and large-scale procurement.
  • Demonstrated skills in organizational leadership, financial management, and contract negotiation.
  • Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or similar are advantageous.
  • Eligibility for security clearance.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience introducing new service offerings and delivery models in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in leveraging automation and digital tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards related to cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Active participation in industry forums to position Ciena as a leader in the networking market.
  • Familiarity with customer success frameworks and organizational change management initiatives.
  • Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement.
  • Background in managing large-scale budgets and service contracts.

Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $141,700 - $226,300. 

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
