Director, Real Estate and Workplace Experience

Job Description:

The Director, Real Estate and Workplace Experience is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of all Real Estate and Workplace Experience initiatives across AssetMark.

A successful candidate blends buildout project experience, with efficient facilities operations, and the ability to drive workplace experience strategies that support business growth and our franchised employee experience.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC office.

Real Estate Leadership

  • Manage AssetMark’s 6-location portfolio including renewal discussions, building management relationships, and compliance oversight across all locations.

  • Serve as a liaison to business leaders to understand needs and provide space planning solutions.

  • Manage the external broker relationship responsible for market sourcing, lease negotiations, and contracting.

  • Align portfolio strategy with business goals, workforce strategy trends, and long-term financial objectives.

Workplace Experience Management

  • Manage the Workplace Experience team, which is responsible for facilities management, service vendor coordination, and safety program initiatives.

  • Track and analyze space usage across the portfolio to recommend enhancements and optimize space and support future growth.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, lease terms, and legal requirements.

  • Oversee execution of company-wide events, celebrations, swag, and engagement programs that foster connection across our offices.

  • Develop and implement workplace strategies that support employee productivity and engagement.

Construction & Buildout Management

  • Oversee buildout projects including budget development, vendor management, and adherence timelines.

  • Partner with architects, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional internal teams to deliver buildouts on time and within budget.

  • Partner with IT leaders to implement infrastructure standards across offices, including AV, security systems, and connectivity.

  • Effectively communicate updates, plans, and project timelines to executive stakeholders.

Financial & Vendor Management

  • Manage operating and capital budgets related to real estate, construction, and facilities.

  • Monitor spending, forecast costs, and report on OKRs to support leadership decision-making.

  • Oversee vendor performance and sourcing strategies for real estate services.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate real estate, facilities management, or workplace operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Facilities Management, or related field.

  • Proven success managing office buildouts, lease negotiations, and vendor relationships.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple concurrent initiatives.

  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-influencing abilities.

  • Experience working in a multi-site and/or geographically distributed environment.

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $120,000-$140,000.

 

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
