About the role
Intact Prestige is a dynamic, thriving business unit within our Intact family, with deep underwriting expertise, a focus on bespoke service to brokers and customers alike, and a grand ambition to be market leader in High-Net-Worth insurance in all major Canadian markets. To support our Prestige strategy and growth ambitions, we are looking for a new Director, Prestige West role. The role will be based in our Western region and will oversee the activities of our West underwriting and broker management teams. This role is vital as we continue to enhance our regional leadership presence and strengthen our partnerships with Western brokers.
What you'll do here:
Drive and achieve profitability, growth, productivity and operational goals through the development and execution of the annual strategic plan, including specific underwriting, pricing, service and expense plans.
Lead Prestige broker relationship and strategy for western provinces. Engaging regularly with High Net Worth specialized brokers to develop Intact Prestige Brand and ensure alignment on service, growth and profitability shared goals.
Lead, manage, and develop staff by providing ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback and facilitating continuous development and succession planning.
Be responsible for motivating staff to participate in goals, priorities and new directions. Living our values and leadership success factors.
Collaborate with other Prestige teams nationally to develop, design and implement workflow/process improvements to accommodate business strategy, championing national collaboration to achieve Intact Prestige national services, growth and profitability objectives.
Determine and/or establish KPI to monitor productivity and technical quality, identify opportunities for improvement and enhance essential business processes.
Stay informed of regulatory updates and identify impact to our business.
Be accountable for the overall budget, staffing and leadership of Intact Prestige west underwriting and broker management teams, ensuring resources are appropriately managed and invested in alignment with our business objectives.
What you bring to the table:
University degree is preferred, or any combination of equivalent education and experience (Certified professional designation is an asset).
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
Live and demonstrate Intact Leadership Success Factors.
Proven leadership skills with excellent communication with all levels of management.
Proven management experience and ability to build, lead and develop teams.
Proven ability to undertake and manage strategic projects and resources.
Experience working closely with broker to develop shared business plans is a strong asset.
Previous exposure to High-Net-Worth Claims considered an asset.
Previous experience influencing at all management levels both within and outside the organization.
Strategic vision and ability to explain and execute the vision.
Knowledge of insurance business analysis and quality assurance practices.
Travel required and ability at managing remote teams.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity:
