The People Business Partner team do this by working together for the greater good, sharing our expertise, experience and ideas to support each other both within our team and when engaging our Centers of Excellence. Our global People team is predominantly located in New York, London, Barcelona, Hong Kong and Singapore. ABOUT THE ROLE
Dow Jones is looking for a Director People Business Partner for our global Energy business, based in New York City. This is a rare opportunity to shape the people strategy for a critical growth area of our business while being part of a global, collaborative People team. You will have a platform to influence senior leadership and make a measurable impact on our people and business outcomes.
In this role, you will work alongside our EVP & General Manager of Dow Jones Energy and her leadership team to drive impact across the organization. With a proven track record of building strong relationships with senior leaders, you’ll combine commercial acumen with high emotional intelligence to influence, challenge convention and embed positive change. You’ll think critically to solve problems and live our values of collaboration, trust, impact, and excellence in everything you do.
You will work in our midtown Manhattan office 3 or 4 days each week.

You will develop an intimate understanding of the businesses you support and provide strategic partnership to senior leaders globally in areas such as: organizational transformation and change management, employee engagement, talent and succession planning, career development and workforce insights. You are resourceful, adept at assembling the right teams to build and launch new tools, optimize the way we work and drive change.
You have worked in global organizations and can support leaders who report into different countries and different timezones. You’re able to help bridge cultural differences and advocate for employees in a global matrixed environment.

WHAT YOU HAVE
10+ years of progressively responsible human resources experience; including 3+ years in senior HR business partner or other senior client facing HR roles
Experience working with high performing commercial groups, such as sales and incentive-driven employees
A proven track record of contributing to the creation and/or expansion of best practices
Ability to position self as credible (garners respect, acts with integrity, keeps commitments); proactive (has a point of view, challenges assumptions, takes initiative); and a trusted thought partner (builds relationships, delivers results)
Ability to balance business partnering skills with employee advocacy
Experience with employee relations processes, including workplace investigations and the performance management process
Experience working in a global HR team, preferably having some knowledge of country-specific employment/labor laws outside of the US
Effective collaboration, coaching and counseling skills
Ability to use data and analytics to develop insights and actions
Initial adoption of AI tools into your ways of working
Ability to to work under pressure and be a proactive team player
Ability to manage and resolve sensitive employee issues
Willingness to work on-site in our midtown Manhattan office up to 4 days every week
