AdministratorThe Director, Student Rights and Responsibilities, serves as the administrator responsible for the adjudication process of alleged violations of the Student Conduct Code and oversight of the Dallas College complaint process. The Director, Student Rights and Responsibilities, is responsible for the oversight, vision, supporting policy development, implementation, and evaluation of the College’s Students Rights and Responsibilities Office.
Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College.
Demonstrated ability to project manage and prioritize services to our community.
Skills in technological support and delivery of student programs and services; knowledge and skill in the use of integrated software systems; and proficiency in the use of Microsoft application software
Experience investigating, processing, and adjudicating student conduct and academic integrity violations. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information exposed to in the course of business regarding students, supervisors or other employees.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding student discipline.
Experience working with student support programs (counseling, threat assessment, health & wellness programs, etc.).
Highly collaborative leader with experience in a comparable and complex college/university with a proven track record of enhancing quality, institutional excellence, and student success.
Responsible for monitoring the hearing and appeal process.
Excellent time management, and organizational and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from the full range of diverse populations.
Ability to respond appropriately to issues in a dynamic, rapidly changing educational/economic environment.
Physical Requirements
Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment. Requires in-person interaction and coordination of work with other employees, students, external clients, partners or customers and/or immediate access to equipment, documents, or other information located only in a College workspace. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with physical challenges to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Master’s degree in related field. Official transcripts required.
Three (3) years of progressively responsible leadership.
Demonstrable administrative and leadership experience.
Current and valid Texas driver’s license required.
Ability to work extended hours beyond the regular 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. workday especially during heavy registration peak times including nights and weekends.
Experience with Maxient.
Experience supervising staff.
Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Leadership & Administration
Provide direct supervision and leadership to Student Conduct Officers across all seven campuses.
Manage the day-to-day workflow of the office, including triaging and assigning all incoming student complaints related to conduct, academic integrity, grievances, and policy violations.
Oversee and manage the student conduct and academic integrity processes, ensuring they are fair, consistent, and educational for all students and student organizations.
Serve as the primary administrator for all student-related Title VI complaints of discrimination, ensuring a prompt, thorough, and equitable resolution process.
Lead the implementation of restorative practices as a core component of the student conduct system, promoting accountability and community repair.
Establish a system for assessing program outcomes, collecting data, and developing key performance indicators (KPIs) for ongoing improvement.
Exercises full discretion and decision-making authority in the recruitment, selection, hiring, mentoring, coaching, development & termination of staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, budgetary constraints, and workforce planning strategies.
Drive high performance by administering the performance management process timely, setting clear expectations, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing initiatives that enhance employee engagement, motivation, and retention.
Complete all Dallas College required professional development training hours each academic year.
All employees are required to complete a minimum of 19 hours.
Collaboration & Education
Act as a key liaison and consultant for faculty, staff, and students on issues of academic dishonesty, plagiarism, and student conduct.
Develop and deliver workshops, presentations, and other educational programs for the Dallas College community to promote student rights and responsibilities.
Provide training and facilitation for restorative practices and other processes to address harm and repair community relationships.
Collaborate with various campus departments to address student behavior concerns and provide guidance on the conduct process.
Provide community education materials as it pertains to the student conduct process and the complaint process.
Support faculty and community members with implementing interim measures when appropriate and educating our community if/when interim measures might be applicable.
Communicate with the Associate Dean, Student Rights and Responsibilities and the Dean of Students and Student Engagement when a case rises to the level of severity.
Provide an annual or semi-annual data presentation to academic affairs to support collegiality and enhance collaborative needs.
Assess comprehensive data from student code violations and the complaint process to tell the unique story of the Student Rights and Responsibilities Office.
Policy, Legal, & Compliance
Stay current on and interpret federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including FERPA, Title IX, VAWA, and the Clery Act.
Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures related to student administration, case resolution, and record-keeping.
Ensure that all students involved in the conduct process are afforded due process and fundamental fairness.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all student conduct cases in compliance with record-keeping policies.
Continuously monitor trends and best practices in higher education and student conduct to recommend policy and practice changes.
In addition to these core duties, the Director performs other tasks as assigned to support the mission of the office.
