As Director of SAP Emerging Technologies and Lead Technical Architect for SAP BTP, you will lead the tactical and strategic deployment and lifecycle management of Pfizer’s SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Your work will directly support Pfizer Digital’s mission to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant digital solutions that empower our global business operations and accelerate innovation across the enterprise.
What You Will Achieve
You will:
Serve as the Lead Technical Architect for SAP BTP services, guiding architectural decisions, platform strategy and the compliant deployment of BTP services and AI solutions in support of business use cases.
Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of SAP BTP services including development of architectural diagrams, cloud credit use case estimations, service deployments, service scale-out, and overall management of cloud credit consumption within BTPEA.
Develop roadmap plans and lead the transition from Neo to Cloud Foundry.
Ensure alignment with Pfizer’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and compliance requirements (SOX, GxP) for new and existing BTP services.
How You Will Achieve It
Own the planning, activation, and monitoring of SAP BTP service deployments across global business use cases.
Establish governance models and drive operational excellence for BTP usage, audit readiness, alignment with lifecycle policies and Pfizer’s AI onboarding process.
Partner with compliance and cybersecurity teams to ensure all BTP services meet Pfizer’s regulatory and security standards including AI guidance and attack & penetration testing.
Lead the BTP Council to evaluate new use cases, explain new services, deliver educational sessions and hack-a-thons to drive innovation, maximize adoption and value realization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to extend SAP enterprise platforms with BTP services to drive clean core principals.
Collaborate with SAP and external partners to stay ahead of platform innovations and to influence BTP roadmap priorities.
Provide leadership within the Pfizer Forward Impact Teams and Enterprise Architects, serving as the lead technical authority on SAP BTP.
Represent Pfizer in SAP’s BTP Customer Advisory Board (CAB) to influence the direction and evolution of BTP.
Minimum Experience / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
8+ years of experience in SAP BTP administration, including ABAP and Java systems or 7+ years of experience and a Master's degree
Proven track record in managing enterprise-scale SAP deployments and lifecycle operations.
Demonstrated experience as a technical architect in SAP environments, with deep understanding of SAP Platforms, authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth), SSL/certificate management, and DevSecOps practices.
Experience implementing and enforcing SDLC and compliance frameworks in a regulated environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
SAP Basis Administration or other SAP Technical experience.
Preferred Requirements
Master’s degree or professional certifications in SAP architecture and cloud platforms.
Experience with SAP BTP services including but not limited to Workzone, Integration Suite, and Document Management Service, API Management, Build Process Automation.
Knowledge of SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC).
Experience with SAP Support Operations.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, documentation and data handling best practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence enterprise architecture decisions.
Experience with global SAP ERP operations and working geographically across distributed teams.
Understanding of SAP Clean Core concepts.
Experience with Lean IX in support of Enterprise Architecture and Lifecycle Planning.
Knowledge of SAP RISE migrations.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156,600.00 to $261,000.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
