Director of Primary Care US Operations & Channel Effectiveness

ROLE SUMMARY

The Director of Primary Care US Operations & Channel Effectiveness will provide comprehensive business support to the U.S. President for Primary Care and PCUS Customer and Channels lead, including coordinating activities across the U.S. Primary Care business as well as ensuring alignment with key enabling/platform functions across the enterprise.

The Director will also provide dedicated support the US Customer and Channels Group in establishing and managing operational processes, insights and management structures across our U.S. go to market channels, translating business strategies into operational plans and aligned objectives across brands.

This role will anticipate, identify, understand, engage in, and support effective prioritization of issues and opportunities across the business and ensure initiatives are completed in a timely and effective manner.

The successful candidate will operate in an agile environment, requiring dynamic thinking, action, and ability to enable rapid prioritization of activities.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide day-to-day operational support for the Primary Care U.S. President via support of key interactions, meetings, presentations, etc. and ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Work closely with the Primary Care DBO, Primary Care President and Finance lead to coordinate the annual Strategic and Operating Plan process and earnings process, coordinating the work of the various members of the Primary Care team.
  • Work with PCLT and Finance to identify opportunities for efficiencies in managing departmental expenditures; apply and adhere to financial systems/processes and compliance requirements.
  • Provide strategic and operations support to Primary Care U.S. President for Enterprise initiatives (Blueprint, partnerships with external customers)
  • Partner with Communications to support planning and management of communications needs E.g. general communication, announcements, intranet site, all-colleague town halls, etc.
  • Partner with Corporate Affairs to support planning of external engagements, e.g., media events and other external engagements engaging or initiated by the US Primary Care Division
  • Support maintenance of Primary Care governance, including but not limited to roundtable meetings, LT meetings and governance committees.
  • Support management and planning of Primary Care LT meetings.

As a strategic thought partner and operational effectiveness lead for the PCUS Customer and Channels Group (CCG), ensure that clear and consistent channel strategies are established, and implement operational processes to consistently set customer and portfolio priorities and reassess routinely.

  • This role will manage execution and report against performance in each critical go to market channel for the Primary Care business, including, Patient Access, Retail, Health Systems, Long Term Care, Urgent Care, Employers, Telehealth and Direct to Consumer Digital Platforms.
  • Directly support the Customer and Channels Group Lead in consistently managing and channel planning meetings and Group leadership meetings, ensuring consistent strategic planning discipline, pull through of portfolio priorities (based on PCLT decisioning and the BAT process) and execution.
  • Enable the right retail data partnerships that facilitate measurement of tactics and strategies and enable optimal deployment of resources.
  • Lead analytic and decision support for the CCG organization.
  • Support Primary Care coordination with US Commercial and Enterprise special programs, including identification of interdependencies with lightspeed initiatives and in-channel programs extending beyond Primary Care (e.g. in CMO, Digital, International and Pfizer R&D).
  • Throughout, uphold and role model Pfizer Values and behaviors and act as an ambassador to build Pfizer’s reputation and support business engagement initiatives as required, while strengthening Primary Care culture

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience required, or Master's degree and 7+ years of experience, or Ph.D./PharmD and 6+ years of experience required.
  • Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare environment
  • Familiarity with strategic and operating planning processes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and mastery of working in a matrix environment as a team player.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, strong analytical skills, and strategic mindset.
  • History of strong networking and working collaboratively with others across functions
  • Executive presence and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong writing, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to take accountability and meet deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years Commercial Pharma experience; prior marketing and quantitative analytics experience preferred.
  • Advanced degree preferred.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
