THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a strategic, revenue-owning leader to manage our direct-to-consumer e-commerce business. This role is accountable for the end-to-end performance of Deseretbook.com and microsites including GregOIsen.com, NativityMarket.com, and Latterdayhome.com. The leader will own the e-commerce P&L and set the growth strategy to deliver revenue, contribution margin, and customer targets while ensuring operational excellence across the full funnel from conversion to fulfillment and retention. This individual will work closely with marketing to deliver awareness and consider strategies to drive traffic acquisition.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE 

P&L Ownership and Growth

  • Own the e-commerce P&L: revenue, gross margin, contribution margin; drive improvements in ROAS, CAC/LTV, AOV, conversion, and return rate.
  • Build and execute annual growth plans; optimize product mix, pricing, and promotions with Publishing and Marketing.

Site Operations and Customer Experience

  • Own the primary site and microsites: UX, merchandising, content, promotions, accessibility, performance, and reliability.
  • Drive conversion through testing, personalization, and CX/UX enhancements.
  • Align demand forecasting and inventory with Supply Chain; participate in S&OP.
  • Set expectations and ensure the Customer Care manager drives team accountability and outcomes.

Technology and Data Stack

  • Partner with Technology and Data.
  • Steward the e-commerce platform, CMS, analytics, testing, product feeds, and roadmap.
  • Ensure robust integrations with OMS/ERP/WMS and partner on feature delivery and site stability.

Digital Marketing Partnership

  • Collaborate with Marketing on search, social, email, and affiliate initiatives to increase qualified traffic.
  • Execute site-side strategies to maximize campaign ROI and conversion.
  • Leverage analytics to monitor performance and surface new growth opportunities.

Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing e-commerce team and agency/vendor ecosystem.
  • Partner closely with Retail, Marketing, Subscriptions, Technology, and Supply Chain to protect and grow the digital business.
  • Report KPIs, insights, and recommendations to the VP of Sales Channel Strategy and senior leadership.

Accountable Outcomes

  • Year-over-year growth in online revenue and profitability.
  • Higher conversion, improved AOV, and stronger customer retention.
  • Flawless site performance and an engaging, on-brand experience.
  • Clear alignment across channels to accelerate digital growth.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in e-commerce, digital retail, or DTC leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to manage an e-commerce P&L and deliver growth.
  • Expertise in merchandising, promotions, site optimization, and digital analytics.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Marketing, Technology, and cross-functional teams.
  • Data-driven, hands-on operator who can balance strategic planning with execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; MBA or comparable business training/experience is a plus; we value diverse paths to leadership.
