Location

This position will be based in Charlotte, NC (preference) or remotely.

 

Summary of Role

As Palmetto continues to scale across its Capital and Consumer businesses, cybersecurity is mission-critical. We are seeking a Director of Cybersecurity to own our information security strategy, safeguard sensitive data, and ensure regulatory compliance. Reporting to the CTO, this leader will build and drive Palmetto’s proactive security program while working closely with Legal, Technology, and Operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead Palmetto’s enterprise security strategy and framework
  • Build and scale a security function aligned with company growth
  • Safeguard digital assets, including consumer data and IoT devices
  • Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and CCPA
  • Partner with executives, board members, and external stakeholders to strengthen confidence in Palmetto’s security posture
  • Foster a security-first culture through training, awareness, and proactive defenses

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in information security or cybersecurity leadership
  • Proven ability to design and execute enterprise-wide security programs
  • Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory standards
  • Experience in consumer finance or other highly regulated sectors preferred
  • Strong professional cybersecurity network to stay ahead of emerging threats and evolving best practices
  • Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to executives and non-technical audiences
  • Entrepreneurial, high-EQ leader who thrives in fast-growth environments
