Our Newest Opportunity: 

The Director of Client Services is responsible for leading an office’s client service efforts and staff to strategically meet or exceed established retention and growth goals and objectives.  The Director works both independently and with local and corporate leadership teams to develop the strategic direction of their business unit and its operations.  The Director will also mentor and train staff in best practices of client relationship development and consulting techniques. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Collaborates with local and national leadership teams to develop retention and growth plans and set annual goals for region and individual team members
  • Oversees retention and growth of region’s book under management (BUM)
  • Oversees and drives growth of BUMs through cross-sale opportunities and alternative products
  • Oversees workloads and workflows to ensure deliverables are met and/or exceeded
  • Analyzes performance outcomes and recommends solutions for continual improvement
  • Leverages the company’s national and local resources to drive greater operational efficiencies
  • Identifies and efficiently resolves employee relations and operational issues
  • Builds and fosters a positive workplace culture
  • Champions programs and  initiatives undertaken by the company
  • Carries positive messages and creates a compelling vision for the company’s future
  • Acts as mentor to staff to assist in resolving client issues and development of solutions
  • Builds strong and productive relationships with clients, partners and fellow leadership teams  

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with professionalism and discretion
  • Proven experience attracting, developing and retaining an “A” player workforce and creating a positive atmosphere conducive to productivity
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of the insurance business
  • Ability to work collaboratively with leadership teams to meet and exceed goals 
  • Proven ability to successfully lead, develop and grow high-level consulting teams
  • Ability to resolve conflict and bring about equitable solutions
  • Ability to work with clients and partners at a strategic level
  • Ability to prioritize business activities that contribute to top-line and bottom-line growth
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and exhibit influence skills
  • Ability to travel within assigned region and to corporate office several times a year

Education, Training and Experience:

  • 7+ years’ experience in strategic benefits consulting, required
  • 5+ years’ experience managing and developing staff, preferred; 3+ required
  • Current life and health insurance license, required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, other Microsoft suite produces and  database applications
  • Advanced knowledge of health, ancillary and alternative funding products

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $125,000.00 to $135,000.00 per year.   

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.  We also offer eligible employees health, wellbeing, retirement, and other financial benefits, paid time off, overtime pay for non-exempt employees, and robust learning and development programs.
