ROLE SUMMARY

Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women in the US, and IBRANCE, our first-in-class CDK 4/6 inhibitor, along with TUKYSA, our best-in-class HER2 TKI, have been prescribed to over 200,000 patients since launch. In 2024, these two medicines contributed >$3.5B in net revenue to Pfizer Oncology and continue to be market leaders in their respective settings despite intensifying competition. In addition, Pfizer Oncology is preparing to launch two novel medicines in breast cancer in the next two years, along with several indication expansions.

The Director, US TUKYSA HCP Personal Channel Marketing will report to the US Marketing Team Lead for TUKYSA and will be responsible for leading promotional strategies and implementation of personal promotional tactics.  Activities associated with this position include strategic marketing, launch tactic planning, and execution of branded and disease education personal promotion tactics.  The Director, US HCP Personal Channel Marketing will work closely with internal and external partners, including, Sales, Sales Training, Global Market Insights, Regulatory, Legal, Medical Affairs, other members of the brand team, and agencies.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and execution of physician-directed promotional tactics to drive market share and achieve sales targets. Partner with Market Insights team to measure effectiveness on an ongoing basis and recommend changes accordingly.
  • Lead the development of any market research stimuli by partnering with the creative agency as well as Market Insights team
  • Own all personal promotion projects through the Medical, Legal and Regulatory review process and ensure that materials and programs are compliant.
  • Drive the development and implementation of new HCP campaign within the personal promotion channel.
  • Lead collaboration with sales organization to deploy and train on brand strategy, messaging, and field tactics.
  • Manage outside agencies: develop project briefs, execute projects, and manage timelines, while ensuring consistency with product positioning, brand guidelines, company goals, and ethics.
  • Identify critical issues that impact the success of promotional marketing efforts.  Contribute to overall brand strategic decisions based on market research, competitive intelligence, advisory boards, and emerging clinical data.
  • Propose and manage detailed budget for responsible tactics.
  • Prepare and present key business updates to company Senior and Executive Management.
  • Lead efforts to coordinate and align work across cross-functional and marketing colleagues, agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure strategic and tactical alignment and execution for all personal promotional materials.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required and 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech marketing experience 
  • Oncology experience, with at least 3 years of marketed brand responsibilities 
  • Experience with therapeutics for smaller/ orphan patient populations a plus
  • Performance in prior positions demonstrates that candidate is well-prepared to advance their Marketing career beyond this role
  • Demonstrated ability to develop actionable insights from complex clinical data and market research
  • Knowledge of OPDP regulations and FDA promotional policy, Clinical Development, and Medical Affairs
  • Strong leadership and ability to influence across functional stakeholders, including senior executives, to set direction, align work efforts, and ensure outstanding execution
  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with both internal teams and co-promotion partner
  • Excellence in additional professional competencies including collaborative and cross functional problem solving and communications, innovative thinking, sense of urgency, and a passion for the science of oncology and for helping patients with cancer.
  • Experience with the management of external agencies/ vendors as well as project budgets and timelines
  • Pharmaceutical/biotech sales leadership and/or sales experience preferred
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • MBA and 7+ years experience; Pharm.D., Ph.D. or other related graduate-level degree and 5+ years experience preferred
  • Oncology, specialty, or rare disease marketing experience 
  • Experience managing a portfolio of brands 
  • Champion innovation, seek learnings from other brands and other industries to innovate and enhance plans 
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration and teamwork 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and lead colleagues outside of a direct reporting relationship through influence and persuasion. 
  • Comfort with ambiguity, and complex “white space” environments 
  • Agile mindset; Track record of pushing boundaries and not accepting status quo, finding ways to deliver in the face of accelerated deadlines 

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed for congresses, patient advocacy and customer meetings/interactions 
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time; Domestic travel of up to 30% 
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze complex data and understand trends and mathematical calculations 
  • Ability to work on computer for extended periods using common applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
