Job Description
 

Gilead is seeking a Director, HCP Non-personal Promotion Marketing to champion the launch of our next groundbreaking HIV therapy—a novel combination of bictegravir and lenacapavir. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Senior Director, HIV Treatment Marketing and play a central part in shaping and executing innovative marketing strategies to bring this transformative new treatment for people living with HIV.

As the HCP NPP Marketing Lead, you’ll:

Role Overview & Responsibilities:

  • Develop the NPP omnichannel (POA) in partnership with HCP promotional team with a focus on balancing the needs of the broader HIV treatment portfolio.
  • Develop and oversee execution of a comprehensive non personal promotional strategy to support a new product launch in HIV treatment.
  • Partner with global and internal stakeholders to shape the execution of innovative omnichannel and content creation capabilities that will propel HIV treatment for non-personal business objectives
  • Provide subject matter expertise to guide and shape the short- and long-term integration of novel technologies/capabilities that individualize customer strategy and promotional execution
  • Partner with analytics and agency partners to continually evaluate NPP performance insights and optimize tactical execution
  • Develops and leads key elements of the promotional brand strategy aligned to the brand campaign with a focus on campaign integration within a portfolio of HIV treatment products
  • Drives execution through the management and partnership with external agencies, internal cross-functional partners, and field sales.
  • Implements product promotional communication strategy for HCP promotions ensuring alignment with the overall brand strategy
  • Gains approval for marketing materials through internal review process through Promotional Review Committee (PRC)
  • Works cross-functionally with Digital Strategy & Operations, Marketing Analytics, Market Research, Legal, Regulatory, Medical and other key internal stakeholders
  • Analyzes complex brand opportunities and provides logical recommendations; leads any required action planning.
  • Ensures that all marketing activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Manages the non-personal promotion marketing budget and project timelines

Competencies and Expertise Required

  • Track record of successful pharmaceutical/biotech marketing, with launch experience preferred
  • Proven ability to leverage market insights from multiple data sources, including market research, advisory boards and field force input to uncover needs and develop opportunities
  • Experience with marketing strategy, sales and regulatory policies and practices
  • Ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans
  • Proven ability in the execution of multiple/complex initiatives within the marketing mix which require tactful cross-functional execution
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills and ability to efficiently and productively communicate to a variety of groups and audiences
  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials
  • Ability to successfully work with external agencies, including advertising, public relations and medical education vendors to develop programs and materials
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, with an understanding of expense budget planning and tracking

Qualifications and Preferred Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years of marketing experience, or
  • Master’s degree or PhD with at least 10 years of marketing experience

Preferred:

  • An MBA with 10+ years of pharma/biotech marketing experience
  • Experience in product launch and portfolio management
  • Background working with patient and community advocacy groups
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements impacting marketing materials
  • Prior experience with advertising, digital, or communications agencies is advantageous


 

The salary range for this position is: $226,185.00 - $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
