As the Director of Digital Home Merchandising, you will lead the strategy and execution of FergusonHome.com’s digital merchandising vision — ensuring the right products, content, and experiences connect customers to inspiration and solutions across an omnichannel touchpoint.

This role will shape how Ferguson’s luxury and lifestyle brands are presented online, driving sales performance, enhancing the customer journey, and elevating the digital showroom experience. You’ll lead a skilled merchandising team, collaborate across marketing, product, and technology functions, and play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of Ferguson Home's business.

Key Responsibilities:

eCommerce Sales & Performance

  • Own and deliver against digital sales, conversion, and engagement goals across B2B and B2C sites.
  • Develop and implement digital merchandising strategies that optimize product discoverability, pricing, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Partner with analytics and finance teams to forecast performance, monitor trends, and identify growth opportunities by category, segment, and customer type.

Digital Merchandising Strategy & Execution

  • Build and implement a Digital Merchandising Playbook that standardizes standard processes across site taxonomy, content, search, and product recommendations.
  • Integrate AI-driven tools to power product recommendations, search relevance, pricing intelligence, and content automation.
  • Leverage data, testing, and customer insights to continuously improve assortment strategy and conversion performance.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of digital merchandising professionals, cultivating a culture of performance, collaboration, and curiosity.
  • Empower team members to innovate, test, and apply insights to improve the digital shopping experience.
  • Ensure the team has clear goals, measurable benchmarks, and ongoing development opportunities.

Customer Experience & Site Optimization

  • Partner with UX, digital marketing, and technology teams to improve the end-to-end customer journey — from landing pages and navigation to checkout.
  • Use analytics, A/B testing, and AI tools to optimize product discovery, content relevance, and site personalization.
  • Champion a customer-first approach, ensuring merchandising decisions reflect both brand positioning and user needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Brand Partnerships

  • Collaborate closely with Product Management to inform and influence product roadmaps that enhance merchandising capabilities, data integration, and personalization tools.
  • Partner with Digital Marketing and SEM teams to align merchandising with campaign strategies, traffic acquisition, and promotional calendars.
  • Engage key brand partners and suppliers to strengthen online storytelling, product launches, and co-marketing opportunities.

Forecasting, Reporting & Communications

  • Establish and maintain regular forecasting and performance reporting, delivering clear insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Communicate business performance, priorities, and initiatives across leadership and operational teams.
  • Translate complex digital metrics into actionable business narratives that drive alignment and decision-making.

Change Leadership & Innovation

  • Act as a motivator for digital transformation across merchandising and related teams, driving adoption of new tools, processes, and critical metrics.
  • Champion AI, automation, and data-driven practices that improve efficiency, scalability, and customer outcomes.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure digital merchandising is tightly integrated with business goals and brand strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital merchandising, eCommerce, or digital marketing, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record leading digital performance growth within a multi-unit, large-scale B2B or B2C organization (distribution or retail experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of AI-driven merchandising, product data management, site optimization, and digital analytics.
  • Deep experience with SEM, SEO, and digital marketing alignment.
  • Excellent analytical, forecasting, and communication skills — with the ability to synthesize data into business action.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives and handling change in a sophisticated environment.
  • Proficiency with major eCommerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce, Shopify Plus) and analytics tools (e.g., GA4, Power BI, Adobe Analytics).

Success Metrics

  • Digital sales and margin growth across B2B and B2C channels.
  • Improvement in conversion, engagement, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Adoption and measurable business impact of the new AI-enabled Digital Merchandising Playbook.
  • Alignment and execution of digital priorities with product, marketing, and technology teams.
  • Employee engagement, retention, and capability development within the digital merchandising team.

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
