What will you work on?
 

The Director, Data Assets is responsible for aligning people, processes, and technology to manage data as a critical enterprise asset. This leader will drive the expansion and consistent maintenance of the Data Lakes, including working closely with the VP, IDS to align the data strategy and execution plans across business lines. The role is critical in ensuring that data assets for business health reporting as well as net new data product development are identified, collected, curated, and maintained.

How will you create impact?

  • Oversee multiple business models leveraging diverse internal and external data sources.
  • Manage and optimize Data Lakes as critical organizational assets supporting analytics, generative AI reporting, and advanced data science initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of data engineers, ML engineers, and data visualization engineers.
  • Direct data collection, curation, and enablement for business and analytics teams.
  • Collaborate with peers in Data Products, Infrastructure, Security, Data Governance, Privacy, and Legal to maintain compliance with regional and contractual data regulations.
  • Ensure Data Lake integrity through active management for timeliness, accuracy, and consistent availability.
  • Drive strategic planning and execution of enterprise-level data management practices, policies, and technologies.
  • Oversee integration and governance of emerging data sources, including those from AI and agentic systems.


What are your skills and experience?

  • Work experience in Data Engineering with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones, using sync and async communication.
  • Expert knowledge of cloud data structures and common data architecture patterns.
  • Expert knowledge of Data Lake with a mix of schema on read and schema on write pipelines, including batch job loads, pub/sub, REST APIs, data replication within and between cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and expanding Data Lakes with both structured and unstructured data, audio, image, and video format experience a plus, streaming data experience is required.
  • Experience in GCP with BQ
  • Knowledge and experience working with SAP is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience working with DAM/MAM a plus
