Director, Crisis Management & Business Resilience

Position Purpose:
Lead Centene's enterprise-wide crisis management and business resilience strategy to ensure operational continuity and rapid recovery from disruptive events. This role drives preparedness, response coordination, and strategic resilience planning across all business units, safeguarding critical services and enhancing organizational agility.

  • Direct the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Centene’s enterprise crisis management and business resilience programs.
  • Oversee enterprise-wide response to crises including natural disasters, cyber incidents, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Direct the development, documentation, and testing business continuity across all business units.
  • Facilitate business impact analyses (BIA) and risk assessments to identify critical processes and vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate crisis communications and stakeholder engagement during disruptive events.
  • Conduct regular training, exercises, and awareness programs for crisis management and business continuity.
  • Monitor emerging threats and trends, ensuring Centene’s resilience strategies remain relevant.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, risk management, IT, facilities, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of resilience objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards for business continuity and crisis management.
  • Monitor emerging threats and trends to evolve resilience strategies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.


Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Risk Management, Emergency Management, Information Technology, or related field required

Master's Degree Business Administration, Risk Management, Emergency Management, Information Technology, or related field preferred
7+ years crisis management, business continuity, or disaster recovery, with demonstrated leadership in high-stakes environments required

Experience in healthcare, financial services, or consulting preferred

Licenses/Certifications:
Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) preferred and Certified Crisis Management Professional (CCMP), CEM (Certified Emergency Manager), or equivalent preferred.


Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) preferred or: PMP (Project Management Professional), or related credentials preferred

Pay Range: $145,100.00 - $268,800.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
