Direct and manage all aspects of general accounting functions, reporting, and compliance to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the organization’s financials.

What you’ll do

Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and timely submission of financial reports. Coordinate internal and external audits and address audit findings.
  • Strategic Planning and Budgeting: Lead the development of financial strategies and long-term financial plans. Manage the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Internal Controls and Risk Management: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets. Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure adherence to internal control policies and procedures.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor the accounting team to achieve departmental goals. Recruit, train, and develop accounting staff. Foster a collaborative and performance-driven work environment.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional responsibilities including cash flow management, stakeholder communication, policy development, technology and systems management, and financial analysis, to support the organization’s financial health and operational efficiency.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired.
  • 10+ years of related experience.

  • Designs and executes strategies that support the overarching philosophy of the organization.
  • Oversees departmental programs and is often hands-on with the design and implementation of applicable strategies.
  • Typically leads large teams, supervising supervisors as well as career-level staff within the organization.
  • Responsible for influencing decisions regarding the hiring, firing, disciplinary action, promotional activity, and pay decisions for subordinates.

Our Director of Accounting earns between $158 ,200 - $237,400. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
