Job Summary
The Director of Training Execution- Electric has responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of technical training programs supporting operations. This position partners with operational leaders to assure that training programs are properly executed to support the delivery of a safe, competent, and qualified workforce. This position will support all departments to provide technical training programs and solutions, and coordinate efforts as appropriate.  This role partners with peers within the broader training organization to leverage training materials and training resources where appropriate. This position will assist with planning training strategy, prioritizing, and seeking funding for new training requests, and leveraging internal and external resources for training support as needed. This position has direct oversight of the day-to-day training operations at our LaPorte Training facility.

Essential Functions

  • Strategizes with business leaders to identify training needs to help support the key business results for their Operations.

  • Collaborates with peers within Training on operational training needs

  • Consults with operational leaders to deliver training/development programs and spearheads the roll out of training and operations initiatives.

  • Stays abreast of newest training and delivery ideas and techniques

  • Creates and maintains process for measurement (ROI) of success for all programs, job aids, training tools, manuals, and curriculum.

  • Evaluates and assesses the effectiveness of key training initiatives to provide results and feedback to the company and broad leadership

  • Develops detailed project plans and timelines for work processes or project initiatives.

  • Works collaboratively with operations and other departments on priorities for programs and rollouts.

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and initiates process changes as needed through the appropriate resources.

  • Ensures that the integrity of training programs

  • Implements and supports technological advancements that meets the needs of all stakeholders for training purposes

  • Creates, maintains, supports an internal workforce development program that drives an enviable employee experience

  • Ensures that training facilities or resources are being efficiently and effectively utilized and maintained



Required Qualifications For Position

  • Demonstrated ability to develop a frontline technical workforce or a Bachelor's degree in Business administration, Human Resource Management, Education combined with demonstrated understanding and experience with workforce development or Equivalent experience

  • Five or more years of experience with electric utility operations or equivalent experience delivering technical training in a field service industry.

  • Proven project management experience and success with strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent MS Office experience

  • Demonstrated experience as successful people developer and leader

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles

  • Ability to communicate certification/training needs, reporting gaps in training and knowledge at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to recommend and implement solutions to training gaps

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and improve training delivery to field service employees

  • Strong analytical skillset required to create robust measurement processes including predictive evaluation, tracking and reporting

  • Ability to professionally and effectively deliver training presentations to small and large groups (for all levels of management)

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent collaboration skills

  • Proven project management experience and success with strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent ability to multi-task

  • Communication skills, relationship-building, flexibility, and strong dedication to building strategic relationship

  • Strong verbal, communication, and presentation skills

  • Travel required 40%

  • Oversees the development and control of training budget

  • Participates in state regulatory proceeding and formal presentations in support of training program

  • Proven ability to work with labor contracts and address operational challenges

Salary Range*:

$155,400.00 - $233,100.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
