Key Responsibilities:

Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with corporate donors, sponsors, and annual fund supporters.

Lead fundraising efforts for major campaigns and events, including Dance Marathons (USD Dakotathon and SDSU State-A-Thon), Radiothons, the Sioux Falls Marathon, Edith Pink Games, Sanford International, and other special initiatives.

Oversee Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) corporate campaigns with national partners such as Walmart, Costco, Ace Hardware, and Panda Express.

Develop compelling donor communications, including proposals, impact reports, and stewardship materials.

Manage donor recognition programs and serve as a public representative of the Foundation through speaking engagements and media interviews.

Conduct donor and prospect research, maintain accurate donor records, and track engagement and solicitation activity.

Collaborate with internal partners and support teams to implement fundraising strategies and achieve campaign goals.

Demonstrate initiative in identifying new development opportunities and creative approaches to donor engagement.

Carries out a variety of healthcare development opportunities. Key responsibilities in development administration, donor recognition, annual fund, major gift and special event coordination.

Job Description

The Development Officer manages a portfolio of corporate donors, sponsors, and annual fund supporters to advance the mission of the Sanford Health Foundation. This role is responsible for cultivating and soliciting gifts, building strong donor relationships, and leading fundraising initiatives that support key programs and services. The position requires an entrepreneurial spirit, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.

Two years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising/development, marketing, sales, and/or journalism special event planning preferred.
