We’re looking for a Development and Community Liaison to join our team and support complex, high-profile, and non-standard permitting projects that help shape our community.
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers navigating the permitting process. Your work will help promote transparency, consistency, and excellent customer service throughout every stage of the permitting process. We're seeking an individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative, and who takes pride in making a positive impact in the community.

We Require
Two years of professional analytical experience, including supporting administrative operations, customer service, policies, and procedures
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a relevant field
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
We Also Value
Experience in development and/or regulatory permitting, engineering, and plan review
Experience in organizational management and utilizing performance measures to drive results
Skilled in assessing business practices and creating process improvements
Job Contributions
Interpret and apply codes, rules, regulations, law, statutes, and policies related to the activities of the department, industry, and the public; effectively articulate and communicate compliance requirements and work with department and regulated community representatives to solve potential conflicts
Communicate with department and regulated community representatives to gather information, analyze, and develop appropriate resolutions to conflicts (i.e., enforcement appeals) and to gain a better understanding of compliance or permitting challenges that may warrant modification in direction, guidance, or revisions of regulation
Single point of contact for large projects, including coordinating with different departments and multiple divisions within each department to work toward removing barriers and delivering balanced resolutions
First line of support for escalation issues and assisting customers struggling with requirements to deliver a road map or summary of permit and submittal requirements
Educate the public by developing training opportunities such as fact sheets, help documents, and outreach necessary for explaining rules and regulations related to permitting practices, procedures, and their implementation
Coordinate with key staff and/or perform research, administrative, and technical review necessary to achieve program goals and objectives, and conduct project meetings when necessary
Identify, develop, and manage policies and procedures for Department practices and staff job duties and responsibilities. May hire, train, and supervise administrative positions
Working Conditions
The position is typically in an office or administrative work setting that requires walking or standing to a significant degree. This role is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
This position is eligible for hybrid flexibility after a brief training period
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly
