About the Role
The P2 Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is an early-career technical contributor responsible for supporting the reliability, scalability, and performance of production systems. This role focuses on operational excellence, incident response, and automation of routine tasks. The P2 SRE works under guidance, executing well-defined tasks and contributing to service health improvements.
Core Responsibilities:
· Monitor system performance and availability across production environments.
· Respond to incidents, participate in root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
· Maintain and improve observability through metrics, logging, and alerting.
· Execute runbooks and standard operating procedures for common operational tasks.
· Contribute to automation efforts to reduce manual toil and improve system reliability.
· Collaborate with development teams to implement reliability best practices.
· Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews.
Required Qualifications:
· 1–3 years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or operations.
· Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go).
· Familiarity with Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
· Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management.
· Understanding of incident management and service-level objectives (SLOs).
· Exposure to container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
· Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
· Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
· Operates with discipline and attention to detail.
· Demonstrates ownership of assigned tasks and accountability for outcomes.
· Communicates clearly and escalates issues appropriately.
· Learn from feedback and adapts to evolving operational requirements.
