A career within Merger Operation services, will provide you with the opportunity to help clients achieve maximum value on their deal transactions by solving transformational and complex challenges. We focus on all operational aspects of a transaction, pre and post completion. We conduct pre deal and confirmatory due diligence, execute large scale enterprise wide integrations, and support complex divestitures and separations on a wide range of functional areas such as Information Technology, Operations, Human Capital and other Backoffice functions.

As a M&A operation IT Director you’ll lead the team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.  

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Lead and grow a portfolio of clients, serving as the senior point of contact and stewarding long-term relationships. 

  • Lead the origination and delivery of IT due diligence, IT post-merger integration and IT separation/carve-out assignments end-to-end, including program governance, project management and executive-level reporting. 

  • Provide IT industry knowledge and thought leadership on relevant topics such as enterprise IT infrastructure, application migration, cybersecurity and digital and analytics. 

  • Drive business development to identify, qualify and pursue opportunities with new and existing clients; oversee proposal development and presentations. 

  • Develop deal-focused strategies to solve complex technical challenges for our clients and link technology actions to value creation, synergy and cost savings. 

  • Direct and oversee large, multi-workstream projects by building high-performing teams, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing/challenging the output produced by the team. 

  • Shape and deliver programs to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria; ensure timely, insight-led deliverables to C-suite stakeholders. 

  • Coach, mentor and supervise Managers and Senior Managers; lead workforce planning, upskilling and performance feedback across engagements. 

  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand, collaborating across Deals and other Lines of Service to bring integrated solutions. 

About you 

  • Deep experience in M&A and Divestitures including pre-deal due diligence, integration planning, separation planning, synergy and cost savings analysis, and post-deal transformation. 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience combining managing roles in an external IT consulting firm and industry experience. 

  • Broad knowledge of key IT functions such as Enterprise Architecture, IT Strategy and Governance, Systems Integration, Application Development, IT Service Delivery and Infrastructure Management. 

  • Able to quickly assess the performance of a business (or elements of it) and outline improvement opportunities based upon limited information and/or interactions with stakeholders. 

  • Able to quickly understand large amounts of information and draw out hypotheses and key messages. 

  • Strong program management and stakeholder management skills leading complex, multi-workstream initiatives. 

  • Strong analytical skills with good understanding of financial results and valuation techniques. 

  • Effective interpersonal skills and able to quickly develop trusted working relationships at senior executive levels. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive reporting.
