Job Description:
Manage a group or process(potentially global). Work with business data users to define the use of data within risk systems. Recommend remediation of control gaps and implements effective risk controls of our data processes and systems. Participate in and lead user acceptance testing of data control processes. Understand existing risk systems, data flows, and infrastructure to identify gaps between business usage of data and current implementations. Recommend alternate data sources and processes to improve the control environment. Lead cross functional strategic efforts to remediate data quality issues. Proactively monitor and remediate incoming data used in risk measurement and reporting. Ensure the completeness, validity, and accuracy of data on a daily basis. Work with other groups as needed, including Middle Office, Sales and Trading, Technology, Compliance, Operational Risk, and Enterprise Capital Management to ensure effective controls over data for GMRM.

Global Risk Management (GRM) leads bank-wide initiatives for management of all aspects of risk, including strategic, market, credit, compliance, liquidity, operational, model and reputational risk matters to support sustainable, profitable corporate growth.
In a data driven economy, strategic data asset management is foundational to add to the enterprise value. Within GRM, we have established the Data Strategy & Management (DSM) function. A key pillar of this function is a growing Strategic Coordination and Implementation (SCI) team.
Under DSM Executive’s leadership, the SCI team will develop a holistic vision on how best to structure data sourcing and data quality control strategy for GRM so it can unlock business value. This role provides you with a broad platform to build partnerships with business and risk counterparts, a vantage point to explore end-to-end data ecosystems and technologies, and ability to co-develop data solutions for GRM that drive the greatest value across the organization.
Job Description
In this role you will own and manage relationships with the GRM Data Product Owners, Data Stewards, Data Users, Data Owners, and Technology Teams to understand and assess their data, processes, and technology to support strategic data initiatives, remediate deficiencies, and drive business requirements.
- Drive consultations with data stewards, process owners, subject matter experts, technical experts, end users and other stakeholders to gather information about the current and target state business process, data attributes and data sources, control features, interfaces with other systems required.
- Build & manage Business Requirements and Functional Requirements Documents in support of various data related projects, analytics, reporting solutions and data management products including, but not limited to, Data Feeds, Data Lineage, Metadata Management, Data Controls.
- Document business, task, and workflow processes using industry standard methods including business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, UML diagrams, flow charts, data flow diagrams and data models etc., ensuring that these deliverables can be used to design a solution to the stated business problem
- Lead analysis of information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, segment high-level information into details, and abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.
- Perform hands-on data analysis, data profiling, data wrangling to uncover insights to formulate business requirements
- Own the assessment and identification of deficiencies against internal policies and standards or industry best practices, providing formal recommendations and requirements to remediate.
- Own and develop SQL code and/or use reporting tools to build dashboard and reports as warranted by DSME in support of data initiatives.
- Lead collaboration and partner with technology teams, architects, and other key stakeholders to drive solutions which provide ongoing operational excellence and resiliency to metadata and control environment challenges.
- Coordinate product & data reviews and provide input to technical solution designs from a business point of view and recommend alternatives.
- Spearhead the evaluation of solutions to confirm that the business goals are met and requirements are satisfied, including defining acceptance criteria, monitoring implementation and performing functional/UAT testing.
- Drive the product development through visualizing the functionality within the product, organizing feedback sessions with users and build the Product roadmaps based on the feedback.
- Lead the delivery management by creating relevant KPIs/KRIs, Issue and backlog Management of the product.
- Navigate the user Adoption by creating User Manuals, Run books, Road Shows and Office Hours.
- Run the Stakeholder forums to communicate Risks, Dependencies and Progress to Senior Leaders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or master’s in computer science, Data Analytics, Information Systems or related STEM field with a minimum of 10+ years of experience.
- Extensive Experience in process/systems analysis, root-cause/impact/gap analysis design and documentation.
- Excellent data analysis experience with hands-on SQL coding for data wrangling and reporting.
- Expertise working with reporting systems, data warehouses, reporting tools, and data governance frameworks
- Working knowledge of data quality frameworks, metadata management, data catalogs, data lineage tools, and control monitoring.
- Proven track record of defining and delivering business & functional requirements and product roadmaps for complex data management or reporting platforms.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead & manage projects, own end-end delivery, monitor tight deadlines and adapt to unexpected requirement changes.
- Must be self-driven with ability to guide junior team members in diverse range of data related projects.
- Experience in Product Management: Ability to visualize functionality within a product, work with cross functional teams to deliver, market the product, create Road Shows/Office Hours, and onboard the users
