About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Data & IT Strategy & Transformation Office, the Data & IT Senior Strategy Specialist will provide enterprise-level advisory leadership that ensures D&IT strategies, investments, and priorities remain fully aligned with Cenovus’s business goals. This role will be a trusted advisor to the CIO and D&IT Leadership Team, integrating insights across portfolios including Data & AI Governance, Cloud, Architecture, Cyber, Shared Services, and Regional D&IT.
What you’ll do:
Shape and sustain Cenovus’s enterprise D&IT strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and long-range planning objectives.
Partner with senior leaders across portfolios to capture, harmonize, and align priorities in Architecture, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Shared Services, and Data & AI Governance.
Lead the integration of governance, performance, and investment frameworks through developing innovation frameworks and strategic goals.
Support the CIO and D&IT leadership by preparing strategy materials, executive briefings, and board-level presentations on technology direction and performance.
Conduct structured analysis and environmental scanning to identify emerging technologies, market trends, and enterprise risks, translating findings into actionable strategic recommendations.
Influence the prioritization and resource allocation of critical programs and initiatives that shape Cenovus’s technology posture and enterprise capability growth.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Minimum 16 years of progressive experience in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, technology governance, or digital transformation.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree is considered an asset.
