P&C IT Services provides professional services to help our business units and corporate functions use technology to create, manage, and optimize information and business processes.  IT Services can include a wide range of activities such as: software development, data management, Cloud services, IT security, network security, technical support, establishing and overseeing access rights, procuring and maintaining equipment or software, managing the infrastructure, and defining security procedures,  The overall goal of IT Services is to provide technology solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and give our company a competitive advantage over our competitors.

Our IT Data group is looking for a Data Application Engineering Intern to work a hybrid schedule (3 days a week in the office, 2 days remote) out of the Cincinnati office for the summer.

Responsibilities:

  • Documentation Management

  • Unit Test Development

  • Enhancement Development

  • Code Reviews

  • Maintaining and updating our team's documentation.

  • Assisting the team with code reviews.

  • Developing stories that contribute to the team's goals.

Requirements:

Qualifications: 

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages like Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.

  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills 

  • Outstanding organizational skills 

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team 

  • Ability to work on tight deadlines as needed 

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook 

  • Development Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Git for version control, Docker for containerization, and integrated development environments (IDEs) like Visual Studio Code or IntelliJ. 

  • Software Development Lifecycle: Understanding the stages of software development, from planning and design to testing and deployment. 

  • Debugging and Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and fix bugs efficiently. 

  • Web Technologies: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and frameworks like SpringBoot, React, Angular, or Vue can be beneficial. 

Required Soft Skills: 

  • Communication: Clear and effective communication is crucial for collaborating with team members and presenting your ideas. 

  • Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team, contributing to group projects and supporting your colleagues. 

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to tackle complex coding challenges and find innovative solutions. 

  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements. 

  • Time Management: Efficiently managing your time to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks.

Education:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Data Science

  • Graduation year: 2029
