Rinsed

Data & Analytics Engineer

New York, US Full-time

At Rinsed, we are building software to run the $15bn Car Wash industry.

We're a B2B SaaS company, providing car washes with all the tools they need to transition to a subscription model. Modern car washes are fully-automated tunnels that can wash over 200 cars/hr, and they are moving from selling single washes to all-you-can-wash subscriptions. We are giving this $15bn underserved market the tools to manage and grow their subscription revenue.

We are a small team, who just raised our Series B from VMG Technology in addition to our Series A from Founder's Fund and Bedrock Capital. We are currently installed at over 3,000 car washes nationally helping to manage more than 8 million car wash memberships. What we've built so far is just the beginning. Get to be part of the founding DNA of building a great product, a great culture, and a great company!

A Day in the Life

We are seeking an analytical and intellectually curious candidate who is excited to work at a fast-growing startup. As a Data & Analytics Engineer, you’ll design the architecture, storage, and transformation capabilities of the data pipelines that power our product. You'll generate external- and internal-facing dashboards to drive value from the millions of data points we gather on customer operations.

Daily responsibilities include everything from meeting with customers to understand their business problems to implementing novel dbt modeling techniques (we’re very excited about Fusion).  We’re an AI forward company and team, and are excited to introduce AI systems and solutions wherever possible.

Every day here is different (you might even find yourself writing an article for our industry data blog!) What is guaranteed is working alongside a passionate, curious, and friendly team to empower a technologically underserved industry with a best in class data stack.

A typical day for this role at Rinsed includes:

  • Modeling point-of-sale data into meaningful fact tables using dbt and Snowflake
  • Building data products that directly impact customers’ business performance and industry understanding
  • Integrating new POS into our data ecosystem
  • Sourcing and piping in third party data into our existing warehouse
  • Empowering cross functional teams with insights and tooling
  • Proactively identifying and driving projects that improve the customer experience and add value for the company

About You

You are an “end-to-end” data engineer who believes in owning the whole stack from data cleaning to dashboard to stakeholder communication.  You have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy a fast-growing environment. You’re naturally curious and you have a desire to keep up with advancements in the data industry.

You bring the following experience and expertise:

  • Proficiency in writing performant SQL
  • Strong familiarity with data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and business intelligence tools (Metabase, Tableau, Lookr, etc.)
  • Clear and direct communication skills about complex technical topics
  • A track record of working autonomously, with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Comfort with a high degree of autonomy and ownership, independently making good decisions for our customers and the business
  • Exposure to dbt or similar data transformation tools preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a Data related role, having startup experience, and evidence of concrete ownership and delivery of impactful work is preferred
  • Familiarity with AI coding assistants and experience incorporating LLMs into data pipelines, analytics workflows, or development processes is a plus
