Job Description

  

At Teledyne Gas Measurement Instruments, we are on a lookout for a Technical Support Engineer with a background in gas detection or portable electronic instrumentation. This role is ideal for someone eager to become a trusted advisor to our customers, offering expert support on our range of gas detection instruments.

What You'll Do: 

  • Provide specialized technical support for gas detection equipment via phone, email, and other channels.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to gas detection instruments, ensuring high customer satisfaction.

  • Work collaboratively across teams to streamline customer issue resolution. 

  • Accurately document interactions and maintain detailed customer records. 

  • Conduct on-site customer training, with travel up to 30%. 

  • Audit authorized Teledyne GMI Service Centers to uphold our standards. 

  • Offer comprehensive training on the usage, maintenance, and servicing of gas detection products.

  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed by management. 

What We're Looking For: 

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience with gas detection equipment or portable electronic instrumentation.

  • Strong understanding of engineering processes and the ability to support related software applications.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. 

  • Previous experience in customer support roles. 

  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically, with up to 30% travel. 

  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus. 

  • High proficiency in IT.

  • Flexibility to occasionally work late afternoons to support American customers.
