Are you a detail-oriented individual with experience with electronic medical records, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional service? As a Customer Service Associate I, you’ll play a crucial role in creating a warm and welcoming environment at the Texas A&M Large Animal Hospital. In this role, you will greet and assist clients, answer incoming phone calls and direct clients to the appropriate clinical services, create and handle medical records, and more. Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Three years in general office or clerical work

A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and/or data entry applications

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

  • Provide quality customer service to internal and external customers/clients

What you need to know

Salary: Starting at $18.23/hour.

Schedule/Location: Located in College Station, TX, this onsite role has a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Please Note: Persons in this position are considered essential when the University declares an emergency, campus closure, class cancellations, etc., and are therefore required to report to work and remain on duty unless/until relieved by the direct supervisor.

Some of the Responsibilities Include:

  • Customer Service: Serves as information resource for clients/patients on Large Animal Hospital methods and process. Promotes communication between clients, rDVMS, clinicians, the general public and other departments. Documents client/patient information for emergency admissions, discharges and appointments. Obtains and prepare medical history documentation for emergency critical care equine admissions. Prepares electronic medical records with documented client and patient information. Coordinates appointments in conjunction with specialized services, including ultrasounds, echocardiograms, endoscopies, nuclear centigraphy, radiology and farrier. Operates multiple phone lines and directs telephone calls to the appropriate service area. Provides faculty and staff with messages as needed. Addresses client concerns and assists with developing a resolution.

  • Admissions/Discharges: Provides backup to greet and admit clients/patients. Prepares documentation for admission of patients. Verifies client and patient information for accuracy when preparing admissions. Assists faculty, staff and students with patient discharges by auditing patient invoice and ensuring patient discharge instructions have been provided.

  • General Office/Clerical: Assists in maintaining a clean and tidy client lobby. Assists in filing clerical documents.

  • Policies/Procedures: Assemble patient records, code a diagnosis, procedure etc. using SNVDO Coding System, enter codes into computer, file records.
