The Opportunity:
Under general supervision, perform custodial and maintenance tasks to maintain the cleanliness and care of facilities within residence halls/apartments/dining. Successful candidates must be willing and able to perform duties associated with commercial cleaning and minor maintenance repair wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including operating industrial cleaning equipment and power tools such as high-speed buffers, burnishers, shampooers, vacuum cleaners and hand drills.
 
Successful candidates must also be willing and able to clean restrooms, classrooms, residence halls, offices and or similar facilities as well as perform minor maintenance tasks such as caulking, replacing toilet seats, lavatory handles, minor furniture repair, replacing outlet covers. Successful candidates must be able to move heavy items such as tables, furniture, cleaning equipment, supplies and other related devices. This position requires the ability to physically bend, stoop, lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds; to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift, climb and stand on ladders. May supervise lower level staff.
Position may work any of the following hours, dependent upon the departmental needs: Monday Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, 7:30 to 4:00 pm, 8 am to 4:30 pm, unscheduled work week, early mornings, swing, late evening, and weekend shifts.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary:
$3,262 to $4,320 | Range 36 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
The ability to do required work, the ability to read and write AND six months experience in custodial, general or building maintenance, grounds keeping, or semi-skilled carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing repair work; OR equivalent education/experience.
Minimum age of 18.
