Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics required.
Completed Dietetic Internship.
One year of experience working in nutrition/dietetics.
One year of post-collegiate work experience in the field of event coordination or education.
Registered Dietitian and Licensed by the State of Arkansas.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to communicate (written and verbal) and collaborate with a broad range of health professionals, students, and peers
Ability to interact professionally with peers and team members
Commitment to continuing professional development and participation in professional activities
Comfort with public speaking
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Science or Culinary Arts.
ServSafe, Culinary Arts, Culinary Medicine, or Lifestyle Medicine certifications.
Experience in grant writing and management.
Experience developing curricula, recipes, or educational materials.
Familiarity with research design and outcomes assessment.
Comfort with demonstration of cooking skills.

Responsibilities:
The Culinary Medicine Instructor will have copies of coursework, recipes, etc, available for each class as determined by the course director using the Culinary Medicine curriculum.
Aids and oversees students in preparing meals.
Work in an interdisciplinary position with the course director or other medical professionals to teach the nutrition/dietetic perspective of the course.
Responsible for teaching students safety in the kitchen, including but not limited to knife skills, dangers of cross-contamination, and food allergies
Works with Get Healthy UAMS (GHUAMS), Nutrition Services, Stocked n Reddie, and other entities/departments to educate the UAMS Community on healthy eating. This includes working with the UAMS Dietetic Interns to develop posters for health days (National Nutrition Month, etc) and to provide food samples, recipes, posters, and education materials to the UAMS community, videos, and food demos with GUUAMS and Stocked n Reddie and others.
Works with Little Rock and other communities to develop programs to educate the community on healthy eating. This may include the Mexican Consulate, the Arkansas Minority Health Commission, the Central Arkansas Library System, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and others.
Works with the UAMS CME department and the Culinary Medicine directors to develop CMEs on Culinary Medicine to educate not only the UAMS providers but also providers throughout the state. This includes presenting cooking demos and developing educational materials, including audiovisual aids, such as videos, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, etc.
Perform administrative duties as assigned.
Leads and/or participates in the writing and submission of grants
Works collaboratively with the Culinary Medicine sub-committee co-chairs to accomplish their goals.
Participates in the budgeting process as needed to evaluate all operations and processes for cost-effectiveness/savings
Training and workshops to meet the mandatory requirements of licensing and for professional growth.
Presentations as required.
Works collaboratively with all CM subcommittees (curriculum, community outreach, research, interprofessional, and CME).
Performs other duties as assigned.
