Overview

Risk Management is responsible for managing and controlling the risk profile of the Bank. The profession path covers financial and nonfinancial risks. Examples of financial risks include client creditworthiness, market price fluctuations etc. Examples of non-financial risks are inadequate processes, controls, or systems etc, Risk Management roles may cover various aspects of the risk lifecycle including: Establishing risk governance, setting risk frameworks, policies, and risk appetite Determining mitigants and controls and reporting the aggregate risk profile and escalating risk events. Risk Management related roles exist in either the 1st line of defense or the 2nd line of defense as independent control functions.

What You’ll Do

  • Distressed Portfolio Management: Collaborate with senior credit officers and front office colleagues to manage a portfolio of distressed credits, primarily in the Leveraged Lending and Commercial Real Estate sectors. Perform ongoing quarterly and annual reviews, recommend internal and regulatory-equivalent ratings, and ensure data quality meets a high standard

  • Restructuring & Other Transaction Assessment: Assist senior credit officers in analyzing transactions that include amendments and extensions, in-court and out-of-court debt restructurings, exit financings in connection with borrowers’ emergence from Chapter 11, and insolvency proceedings. Help to ensure that credit approval documentation is clear and that credit recommendations are consistent with risk appetite, internal policies, and applicable regulations

  • Reporting and Audit Support: Provide support for reporting and audit-related requirements, helping to ensure timely and accurate reporting of essential credit information, while also participating in both internal and external audits and regulatory examinations

  • Training & Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to junior credit officers particularly with respect to credit analysis as well as policy and regulatory adherence

Skills You’ll Need

  • A degree in accounting, Business, Finance or Economics from accredited college or university (or relevant work experience)

  • Previous Credit analysis experience from a Financial Institution or Rating Agency Strong written and oral communication skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of different teams and professionals

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Previous experience in Leverage Debt Capital Markets, Commercial Real Estate, Real Estate Investment Trusts, Workout and Recovery management or financial modeling a plus

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-starter

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville, FL office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Jacksonville is $60,000 to $86,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
