Job Description

To ensure the efficient running of the assigned Credit Portfolio and execute the Credit Risk strategy with a view to maximising the return on capital employed whilst maintaining an acceptable level of risk in terms of the Bank’s credit ethics

• Receive and consider limit proposals from Branches, Business and Corporate and Home Loans where such proposals fall within the discretion of the jobholder
• Receive all credit reports and proposals rising to the limit of the General Manager and the credit committees, and to assess, evaluate and adjudicate on the same in terms of the Bank's credit ethic and policy
• Recommend those reports and proposals in excess of the discretion of the job holder to higher authority by the value add method in order to enhance the asset growth and profitability of the bank while controlling and reducing the associated credit risks
• Provide guidance on all credit related matters
• Monitor the lending activities of the managers within their own discretion by periodically visiting them to examine the daily and weekly branch reports, ensuring compliance with the credit
