About the Role:

We're looking for a contract Creative Strategist (Script Writer) that will be responsible for delivering compelling and well researched ad scripts for the Dr. Squatch creative team. They will see those scripts through to quality control and completion, providing clear instructional feedback for the team to improve the performance of the ads. The role will also include monitoring performance and occasionally providing reports on what’s working in the account and opportunities for improvement.

This role will be accountable to the Director of Creative Performance.

Ideally, this contractor should be in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area.

The contractor term is anticipated to be up to 20 hours per week for approximately 6 months.

What You'll Do:

Hard Skills:

  • Copywriting for DR content 
    • Speak in the Dr. Squatch brand voice to gain sales 
    • Optimize concepts for Meta, TikTok, Snap, Applovin, and others
    • Build concepts for target personas
    • Write clear briefs that are user friendly for the team who has to execute them
  • Performance analysis (via Ads Manager, Northbeam, TripleWhale or similar kind of analysis platform)
  • Competitor analysis and adaptation: Can look into what’s working on competitor ads and website and replicate for Dr. Squatch or provide directional insight for our team.
  • Knowledge of the video or ad production process to effectively communicate with fellow creative team members
  • Review and QC skills
    • Can quickly understand limitations on claims and provide feedback
    • Knowledge of watchability factors and can empathize with an end-user

  • Act with urgency and delivers fast
  • Act with minimal direction and conduct thorough research or ask the right questions to come up with an acceptable output.
  • Learn and adjust to directionally improve performance
  • Constantly inspired and has the ability to generate a lot of new ideas
  • Resource Aware – understands constraints, blockers, where emphasis needs to be placed and where it should be deprioritized

Ideal Backgrounds:

  • Worked in a performance agency or direct to consumer brand
  • Portfolio of winning concepts
