Creative Content Manager

USC Online seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented Creative Content Manager to create, refine, and manage written and multimedia content that advances awareness and understanding of USC’s online graduate programs.

USC Online supports the University of Southern California’s mission to expand access to exceptional graduate education through innovative, high-quality online programs. This role blends storytelling, strategy, and creativity — perfect for a skilled writer and content producer who understands how to connect with audiences across platforms. You’ll be responsible for producing engaging, accurate, and SEO-friendly written content, as well as social media content and video marketing campaigns.

The ideal candidate will be both a strategic thinker and hands-on creator, passionate about turning complex academic information into accessible, inspiring narratives aligned with USC’s brand and mission. They will also be a data-driven decision maker, comfortable with using metrics to inform content and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and optimize articles, blog posts, and landing pages for 14+ USC Online graduate programs.

  • Develop and manage content plans, editorial calendars, and messaging strategies.

  • Craft engaging social media posts, captions, and campaign concepts to support marketing objectives.

  • Manage the production of short-form videos for social media, paid campaigns, and promotional use.

  • Supervise and manage the development, production, and delivery of narrative content for multimedia and interactive projects.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors to maintain project timelines and quality standards.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on storytelling, narrative development, and content strategy.

  • Support the review and approval pipeline for all content, managing feedback from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Organize and oversee the creation of comprehensive digital content archives.

  • Participate in program budget development, recommend resource allocations, and ensure cost-effective production.

  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to understand sponsor expectations and align deliverables accordingly.

  • Occasional travel to USC campus for various campus events throughout the year; including Commencement.

The annual base salary range for this position is $101,240.00 - $110,000.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree (combined experience/education may substitute for minimum education).
Experience: 3–5 years in digital content production, marketing, or related field (combined education/experience may substitute for minimum experience).
Exceptional writing, editing, and multimedia skills with demonstrated ability to convey complex ideas in clear, engaging, and accessible ways.
Strong understanding of SEO, content marketing, and social media strategy.
Experience with WordPress, Canva, Google Analytics, and social scheduling platforms (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer).
Proven ability to manage multiple creative projects in a fast-paced environment.
Experience managing contractors, vendors, or creative partners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to collaborate across teams.
